Anti-oxidant and antibacterial activities of novel N-sulfonylphtalimide in an ovalbumin-induced inflammation in Wistar rats.

Phthalimide and N-substituted phthalimide have a special structure that helps them to be pharmaceutically useful and biologically active. In this study, we investigated the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects of a synthetic phthalimide-containing derivative in an experimental asthma model. In vitro determination of antioxidant and chelating activity was carried out by spectrophotometric methods.

National Tunisian Study of Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices: Design and Protocol for a Nationwide Multicenter Prospective Observational Study.

Background: In Tunisia, the number of cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) is increasing, owing to the increase in patient life expectancy and expanding indications. Despite their life-saving potential and a significant reduction in population morbidity and mortality, their increased numbers have been associated with the development of multiple early and late complications related to vascular access, pockets, leads, or patient characteristics.

Objective: The study aims to identify the rate, type, and predictors of complications occurring within the first year after CIED implantation.

Comparison of simulation and video-based training for acute asthma.

Background: Emergency medicine is particularly well suited to simulation training. However, evidence for the efficacy of simulation-based medical training remains limited especially to manage high-risk cases such as acute asthma.

Objective: The objective of our study was to compare the performance of high-fidelity simulation (HFS) and interactive video-case challenge-based training (IVC) for final-year medical students in the management of acute asthma.

[Monocentric retrospective study on the prevalence and significance of incomplete right bundle branch block in young competitive athletes in Tunisia].

Aims: Few studies have assessed the prevalence and significance of right bundle branch block in athletes. Aims of this study were to evaluate the prevalence of incomplete right bundle branch block and its correlation with the nature of sports practice and to compare the athlete with right bundle branch block and the one with a normal electrocardiogram.

Methods: It was a retrospective study of the electrocardiogram and echocardiography of competitive athletes recruited in the medical-sports center of Sousse RESULTS: A total of 554 athletes were included.

Background: Despite the recent progress made in drug-eluting stents (DESs), in-stent restenosis (ISR) is still a common complication of percutaneous coronary interventions. This retrospective study from a single center aimed to compare outcomes in 79 patients with ISR treated with paclitaxel-coated balloon (PCB) angioplasty or DES implantation.

Results: From January 2017 to December 2021, 83 ISR lesions from 79 patients were included.
