Fusarium in wheat: importance and toxin production in the field - possibilities and limits of fungicide treatments.

Effects of plant cropping measures on toxin production were investigated. The use of the plough reduced the DON level by 71%. Additionally, the choice of less sensitive varieties, as well as an adequate nitrogen fertilization showed a significant reduction of the DON content in grain.
