Soil classification and analysis are essential for understanding soil properties and serve as a foundation for various engineering projects. Traditional methods of soil classification rely heavily on costly and time-consuming laboratory and in-situ tests. In this study, Support Vector Machine (SVM) models were trained for soil classification using 649 Cone Penetration Test (CPT) datasets, specifically utilizing cone tip resistance ([Formula: see text]) and sleeve friction ([Formula: see text]) as input variables.

Different kinds of proteins interact with the digestible lipids in various ways, affecting the adsorption behavior of proteins and digestion. The ordered porous layer interferometry (OPLI) system was constructed by the silica colloidal crystal (SCC) films used to monitor the real-time binding assessment between bovine serum albumin (BSA), casein, fibrinogen, and triolein. The OPLI system reflected the changes in protein mass on the SCC films in real time through the migration of the interference spectrum of the SCC films, which was converted into the changes in optical thickness (ΔOT) that can be monitored.

Objectives: To establish a spectral CT-based nomogram for predicting the response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in patients with locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC).

Methods: This retrospective study included 172 patients with ESCC who underwent spectral CT scans before NAC followed by resection. Based on postoperative tumor regression grades (TRG), 34% (58) of patients were responsive (TRG1) and 66% (114) were non-responsive (TRG2-3).

Background: Two post-processing methods of dynamic susceptibility contrast perfusion-weighted imaging (DSC-PWI), arterial input function (AIF) and gamma-variate fitting (GVF), can both derive cerebral blood flow (CBF). Moreover, AIF can provide T2* and T1 leakage indicators. This study aimed to compare the consistency of normalized CBF between different post-processing methods of DSC-PWI and arterial spin labeling (ASL) in gliomas, and take the quantitative metrics percentage of signal recovery (PSR) as a reference to verify the value of T2* and T1 leakage indicators in characterizing leakage effect and evaluating the grading of gliomas.

Introduction: Nonoperative management (NOM) is recognized as a viable treatment for pediatric closed splenic trauma. However, clinical guidelines are applied inconsistently, resulting in different treatment strategies in different regions. This study aimed to investigate the independent risk factors influencing the length of stay in pediatric closed splenic injuries and to analyze the key determinants in the choice of surgical treatment to optimize inpatient management and patient care and improve outcomes.
