Article Synopsis
  • * Conducted as a double-blind, randomized controlled trial with 86 TKA patients, results showed that the DXM group experienced significantly less pain and fewer vomiting episodes compared to the placebo group, alongside improved mobility and muscle strength.
  • * The findings concluded that a single preoperative dose of dexamethasone is safe and effective for managing pain post-TKA, with no reported wound complications during the follow-up period. *

To assess outcomes of supracostal ultrasound guided approach percutaneous nephrolithotomy (SUGA-PNL) and retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) in isolated large volume upper calyceal stones (UCS). This was a prospective randomized study including patients with isolated UCS > 20mm. The patients were randomized into two groups: group (P) (SUGA-PNL) and group (R) (RIRS).

Background: Patients with high-risk neuroblastoma (NB) have a 5-year event-free survival of less than 50 %, and novel and improved treatment options are needed. Radiolabeled somatostatin analogs (SSTAs) could be a treatment option. The aims of this work were to compare the biodistribution and the therapeutic effects of Lu-octreotate and Lu-octreotide in mice bearing the human CLB-BAR NB cell line, and to evaluate their regulatory effects on apoptosis-related genes.

Chiral separation techniques play a crucial role in the pharmaceutical industry, where the enantiomeric purity of drugs can have a significant impact on their efficacy and safety. Macrocyclic antibiotics are highly effective chiral selectors used in various chiral separation techniques, including LC, HPLC, SMB, and TLC, offering reproducible results and a wide range of applications. However, developing robust and efficient immobilization mechanisms for these chiral selectors remains a challenge.
