The success of proton exchange membrane water electrolysis (PEMWE) depends on active and robust electrocatalysts to facilitate oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Heteroatom-doped-RuO has emerged as a promising electrocatalysts because heteroatoms suppress lattice oxygen participation in the OER, thereby preventing the destabilization of surface Ru and catalyst degradation. However, identifying suitable heteroatoms and achieving their atomic-scale coupling with Ru atoms are nontrivial tasks.

Exosomes are extracellular nanovesicles secreted by cells that efficiently deliver therapeutic cargo for cancer treatment. However, because exosomes are present in low quantities and have limited target specificity, internal and external stress stimulation has been studied to increase exosome efficiency. The term cancer immunoediting describes the dual role by which the immune system can suppress and promote tumour growth and is divided into three phases: elimination, equilibrium and escape. The role of NK cells has mainly been attributed to the elimination phase. Here we show that NK cells play a role in all three phases of cancer immunoediting.

Background: We evaluated the prognostic effect of lymphocytopenia caused by preoperative radiation therapy and chemotherapy in patients with rectal cancer.

Methods: A total of 147 patients with rectal cancer who underwent preoperative chemoradiotherapy and surgical resection between 2008 to 2021 participated. Lymphocyte nadir less than 500/μl were defined as lymphocytopenia in this study.

Identifying the grain distribution and grain boundaries of nanoparticles is important for predicting their properties. Experimental methods for identifying the crystallographic distribution, such as precession electron diffraction, are limited by their probe size. In this study, we developed an unsupervised learning method by applying a Gabor filter to HAADF-STEM images at the atomic level for image segmentation and automatic counting of grains in polycrystalline nanoparticles.
