A review of tangle-veined flies (Nemestrinidae, Diptera) in Egypt.

The Egyptian fauna of the genus Latreille, 1802 is revised. In 1967, Steyskal and El-Bialy listed 12 species from the region, but only six species are now recognized. The primary type specimens of the species (Wiedemann, 1828), (Olivier, 1810), and Wiedemann, 1828 ( being a synonym of ) deposited in the Museum für Naturkunde, Berlin, Germany were examined.

Apolipoprotein M Gene Polymorphism Rs805297 (C-1065A): Association With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Related Microvascular Complications in South Egypt.

Background: Apolipoprotein M (ApoM) may have a role in the susceptibility of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Polymorphisms in the promoter region of the ApoM gene were found to be significantly associated with diabetes. The aim of this study was to investigate the association of ApoM SNP rs805297 (C-1065A) with the susceptibility of T2DM and related microvascular complications in South Egypt.

Review of robber flies of the genus Loew (Diptera: Asilidae: Stichopogoninae) from Egypt.

The Egyptian fauna of the asilid genus Stichopogon Loew is revised. Nine species are recognized including two new records, Stichopogon deserti Theodor, 1980 and S. scaliger Loew, 1847.
