Odontogenic fibromyxoma of the maxilla: a case report and review of the literature.

Fibromyxoma represents a rare benign neoplasm that mostly affects the posterior region of the mandible. Here, we report the case of a 46-year-old male with a swelling of the right maxilla. After proper diagnosis, he was treated with enucleation and curettage of the tumor.

Craniofacial surgical management of a patient with systematic juvenile idiopathic arthritis and Crohn's disease.

Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is the most common chronic inflammatory disease in early age. It affects one or more joints, lasts more than 3 weeks, and appears in patients younger than 16 years. Juvenile idiopathic arthritis is classified according to the International League of Associations for Rheumatology consensus depending on the number of affected joints in the beginning of the disease.

Cellular localization of PDGF mRNAs in developing human forebrain.

Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) has been implicated in the processes regulating gliogenesis in the CNS. Conflicting in vivo data in rodents have variously implicated either glia or neurons as being the primary source of PDGF. We have used in situ hybridization and immunocytochemical analysis to study the in vivo expression and cellular localization of PDGF-A, sis/PDGF-B, together with the two PDGF receptors alpha and beta, in developing human forebrain.

Gel matrix vehicles for growth factor application in nerve gap injuries repaired with tubes: a comparison of biomatrix, collagen, and methylcellulose.

The repair of nerve gap injuries with tubular nerve guides has been used extensively as an in vivo test model in identifying substances which may enhance nerve regeneration. The model has also been used clinical nerve repair. The objective of this study was to compare three different gel matrix-forming materials as potential vehicles for growth factors in this system.
