Surgeons in training have a limited opportunity to practice their skills in a realistic surgical environment. Surgical training models are expensive and are often single-use exercises involving consumable supplies. The goal of the work presented in this paper is to increase surgeon training time by developing a surgical training simulator that is portable, inexpensive, and offers a realistic surgical environment.

Here we show one type of bioorthogonal HS donors, sydnthiones (1,2,3-oxadiazol-3-ium-5-thiolate derivatives), which was designed with the aid of density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The reactions between sydnthiones and strained alkynes provide a platform for controllable, tunable and mitochondria-targeted release of HS.

While automated organic molecule synthesis has enhanced efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness, achieving fully automated multistep synthesis remains a formidable challenge due to issues such as solvent and reagent incompatibilities and the accumulation of side-products. We herein demonstrate an automated solid-phase flow platform for synthesizing α-keto-amides and nitrile peptidomimetics, guided by docking simulations, to identify potent broad-spectrum antiviral leads.

Case reports have been published suggesting the potential role of hemodialysis in lowering serum lamotrigine levels, as well as sodium bicarbonate and lipid emulsion in treating dysrhythmia. After previously reported therapies failed to stabilize the patient's condition, the case presents our successful treatment experience using continuous veno-venous hemodiafiltration (CVVHDF) to stabilize lamotrigine levels, as well as intravenous rifampin as adjunctive therapy to facilitate lamotrigine metabolism.
