Hiding in plain sight: eating disorders in diverse populations - a case for comprehensive medical education.

Background: Training gaps regarding the diagnosis and management of eating disorders in diverse populations, including racial, ethnic, sexual, and gender minoritized groups, have not been thoroughly examined.

Objective: This study aimed to examine resident physicians' knowledge and attitudes regarding eating disorders in diverse populations, with a focus on areas for improved training and intervention.

Methods: Ninety-two resident physicians in internal medicine, emergency medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, psychiatry, and surgery at an academic center completed an online survey from 12/1/2020-3/1/2021, which comprised multiple choice and vignette-style open-ended questions to assess knowledge and attitudes toward the management and clinical presentations of eating disorders.

A multi-phase structured cascade model for mass training of community healthcare workers in performing clinical breast exams in remote regions.

Background: Clinical breast exam (CBE) by outreach healthcare workers (HCW) may help downstage breast cancer in resource-limited areas where mammography may not be feasible. We evaluated the effectiveness of a pilot cascade-model training programme for HCWs in remote areas of Pakistan.

Stringent Regulations of Oocyte Donation Among Jewish Women in Israel: Characteristics and Outcomes of the National Oocyte Donation Program in One Central IVF Unit.

On September 5, 2010, the Israeli Parliament passed a law that allows Israeli female residents to donate their oocytes to infertile Israeli female residents. This law includes unique restrictions that do not exist in other countries. Our aim was to characterize Israeli oocyte donors and recipients and the outcomes of the oocyte donation program as regulated by national law.

Indigenous Knowledge and Quantitative Analysis of Medicinal Plants Used to Remedy Respiratory Tract Disorders in Mid-Western Tanzania.

This study is aimed at documenting the indigenous knowledge and quantitative analysis of medicinal plants (MPs) used by traditional health practitioners (THPs) of Urambo District in mid-western Tanzania to manage respiratory tract disorders (RTDs). The ethnomedicinal data were collected using semistructured interviews with 55 THPs using a snowballing technique in the district. The data were analysed for indigenous knowledge among gender, age groups, education status, and experience.

The incidence of cancer has been constantly increasing in recent years and thereby, the damage to the patients' quality of life, as a result of the disease and the oncological treatments. In an attempt to improve this, a unique branch of rehabilitation has been developing in recent years, specializing in improving patients' function throughout the entire disease trajectory, from the day of diagnosis to the most advanced stages.
