Age-Related Trends of Thyroidectomies in Saudi Arabia: A Multicenter Retrospective Study.

Understanding the relationship between aging and postoperative complications is critical because it may influence how the condition is managed. The safety of thyroidectomy in the older age group is debated in literature. All previous studies were conducted outside of the Middle East, and there is a scarcity of data in the literature describing the relationship between age and postoperative outcomes after thyroidectomy.

Introduction Accurate and detailed documentation of surgical operation notes is crucial for post-operative care, research and academic purposes, and medico-legal clarity. Several studies have shown their defiency and inaccuracy sometimes, and some methods have been proposed to make them more objective. This study aimed to evaluate the completeness of thyroidectomy operative notes in a tertiary center and to assess the adequacy of video documentation by comparing it to the corresponding operative notes.

Magnetic resonance imaging accuracy in assessing depth of invasion in tongue squamous cell carcinomas and predicting cervical nodal metastasis.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) accuracy in assessing the depth of invasion (DOI) compared to pathological DOI in oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and to determine whether MRI-measured DOI can predict lymph node metastasis in the cervical region.

Patients And Methods: This retrospective study comprised 36 patients diagnosed with oral tongue SCC who underwent head and neck MRI 1-30 days before surgery and were surgically treated at King Fahad Medical City between January 2017 and November 2022. Relevant information was collected from the patients' records, and the data were analyzed to determine the radiological-histopathological correlations for the DOI and ascertain the cutoff point for nodal metastasis.

Arabic Translation and Validation of Olfactory-Specific Quality of Life Assessment Questionnaire.

Background:  Olfaction plays a critical role in our health, emotions, social life and safety, which is why olfactory dysfunction has a great impact on a person's life.
