Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary disease (CTEPD) with or without pulmonary hypertension (PH) occurs when thromboemboli in pulmonary arteries fail to resolve completely. Pulmonary artery obstructions due to chronic thrombi and secondary microvasculopathy can increase pulmonary arterial pressure and resistance leading to chronic thromboembolic PH (CTEPH). Mechanical interventions and/or PH medications can improve cardiopulmonary haemodynamic, alleviate symptoms, and decrease mortality risk.

Background: Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and continuous subcutaneous insulin infusions (CSIIs) are the current standard treatment devices for type 1 diabetes (T1D) management. With a high prevalence of T1D beginning in pediatrics and carrying into adulthood, insufficient glycemic control leads to poor patient outcomes. Dermatologic complications such as contact dermatitis, lipodystrophies, and inflammatory lesions are among those associated with CGM and CSII, which reduce glycemic control and patient compliance.

HER2 expression is an important biomarker for the management of RAS wild-type metastatic colorectal carcinoma (CRC). Immunohistochemistry (IHC) with reflex in situ hybridization (ISH) is accepted as a standard method of assessment, yet there are currently two sets of criteria used to interpret results: the HERACLES criteria, and the My Pathway criteria. The HERACLES criteria require ISH confirmation when IHC staining is 3+ in 10-49% of cells, while the My Pathway criteria mirror those for gastric HER2 assessment and do not recommend ISH confirmation in the previously referenced scenario.

Keloids are thickened raised scars that develop due to injury and grow beyond the boundaries of their original wound, mostly affecting individuals with skin of color. This review explores the use of energy-based devices to treat keloids, both using laser monotherapy and in combination with other drugs. Laser therapy alone has shown efficacy in treating keloids.
