Desiccation tolerance is a complex phenomenon observed in the lichen Flavoparmelia ceparata. To understand the reactivation process of desiccated thalli, completely dried samples were rehydrated. The rehydration process of this lichen occurs in two phases.

Factors affecting hormonal outcomes in patients undergoing surgery for non-functioning pituitary neuroendocrine tumors: a prospective observational study.

Surgical resection of non-functioning pituitary neuroendocrine tumors (NF-PitNET) is associated with new onset hormonal axis (HA) dysfunction, and factors predicting HA dysfunction are controversial, especially in large and giant NF-PitNET. Thus, we evaluated the postoperative hormonal function and assessed factors affecting HA dysfunction in patients with NF-PitNET. This prospective observational study involved 50 patients who underwent endoscopic surgical resection of NF-PitNET in the Department of Neurosurgery (April 2023-March 2024).

Functional genomics of primary congenital glaucoma by pathway analysis and functional characterization of CYP1B1 mutations.

CYP1B1 is the most common gene implicated in primary congenital glaucoma (PCG) - the most common form of childhood glaucoma. How CYP1B1 mutations cause PCG is not known. Understanding the mechanism of PCG caused by CYP1B1 mutations is crucial for disease management, therapeutics development, and potential prevention.

A Case Series of Adult Measles from a Tertiary Care Hospital in North India.

Measles or rubeola is caused by an enveloped single-stranded RNA virus belonging to the genus Morbillivirus in the Paramyxoviridae family. Here, we present five adult measles patients. The laboratory confirmation of measles by serology/polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was carried out in the National Measles Laboratory as per WHO standard operating procedure at the Department of Virology, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India.
