Background: Endovascular treatment (EVT) of intracranial aneurysms (IAs) has improved significantly with the integration of virtual simulation software (VSS) in surgical planning and device selection. Despite promising outcomes, discrepancies remain between physician and VSS recommendations. This review synthesizes evidence on (1) comparisons between VSS-chosen and physician-chosen dimensions; (2) VSS-chosen and postoperative measured dimensions; and (3) the success rate of VSS-guided device deployment.

Commercial yeast has been frequently employed to improve the digestibility of ruminant diets, albeit these microorganisms are not indigenous to the rumen microbiome. In this investigation, our aim was to assess the in vitro digestibility of Urochloa decumbens hay (UDH) with the incorporation of two selected yeast strains isolated of ruminal fluid of Zebu cattle. Rumen fluid was collected at the onset, midpoint, and final of the dry period in a semiarid region Brazil.

Background: Hand grip strength (HGS) may represent an epidemiologically relevant alternative as an initial screening tool for sarcopenia and sarcopenic obesity. However, no study evaluated the performance capacity of HGS compared to other biomarkers in discriminating these conditions in adults.

Objective: The study aimed to evaluate the performance of HGS as discriminator of sarcopenia and sarcopenic obesity, compared to urinary biomarkers of creatinine and potassium in 24 h for Brazilian adults.

Catecholamine-producing tumours are rare entities that, even though their clinical diagnostic might be a challenge due to the non-specificity of the symptoms, have had a growing incidence due to the continuous improvement of medical imaging examinations and the evolution of molecular genetic testing. On the other hand, they can rarely manifest as serious complications, such as myocardial infarction, stroke, or alveolar haemorrhage. This paper describes the case of a 77-year-old Caucasian man who presented with acute onset of left upper quadrant abdominal pain.

We introduce a generalization of the Kelvin-Voigt model in order to include and characterize heterogeneities in viscoelastic semisolid materials. By considering a microrheological approach, we present analytical expressions for the mean square displacement and for the time-dependent diffusion coefficient of probe particles immersed in a viscoelastic material described by this model. Besides validating our theoretical approach through Brownian dynamics simulations, we show how the model can be used to describe experimental data obtained for polyacrylamide and LAPONITE® gels.
