Uncomplicated Type B Aortic Dissection: A European Multicentre Cross-Sectional Evaluation.

Background: A multicentre European randomized control trial - European Uncomplicated Type B Aortic Repair (EU-TBAR) is being developed to compare pre-emptive thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) with custom-made devices versus conventional optimal medical therapy. The pretrial set-up is confluent on different pillars, including evaluation of 1) European activity, trends, and governance; 2) outcome reporting; and 3) cost evaluation. This article aimed to demonstrate the observational cross-sectional survey results from participating centers and highlight the risk assessment, activity, practices, and governance of uncomplicated type B aortic dissection (uTBAD).

EarLy Exercise in blunt Chest wall Trauma: A multi-centre, parallel randomised controlled trial (ELECT2 Trial).

Introduction: The aim of this trial was to investigate the impact of early thoracic and shoulder girdle exercises on chronic pain and Health-Related Quality of Life in patients with blunt chest wall trauma, when compared to normal care.

Methods: A multi-centre, parallel, randomised controlled trial, in which adult patients presenting to hospital with blunt chest wall trauma were allocated to either control or intervention group. The intervention was an exercise programme consisting of four simple thoracic and shoulder girdle exercises, completed for one week.

Reconsidering the Role of Radiotherapy for Inoperable Gastric Cancer: A Systematic Review of Gastric Radiotherapy Given With Definitive and Palliative Intent.

Aims: The role of radiotherapy (RT) for inoperable gastric cancer (IGC) is commonly low-dose, given reactively for symptoms (e.g. bleeding), in contrast to the oesophagus, where high quality evidence exists for higher doses of RT.

Medical mistrust and receptivity to lung cancer screening among African American and white American smokers.

Although medical mistrust is associated with lower cancer screening uptake among racial minorities, such as African Americans, potential impacts on cancer screening among White Americans are generally understudied. In this study, we examined links from medical mistrust to lung cancer screening among African American ( = 203) and White American ( = 201) smokers. Participants completed the Group-Based Medical Mistrust Scale and viewed a brief online educational module about lung cancer risks, etiology, and screening.
