Effect of optimal lesion preparation prior to implantation of a magnesium-based bioresorbable scaffold: 12-month results of the OPTIMIS study.

Background: Lumen reduction after bioresorbable scaffold implantation has been reported. This study aimed to assess the influence of pre-dilatation with a scoring balloon versus a standard non-compliant balloon prior to implanting a magnesium-based Magmaris bioresorbable scaffold (MgBRS) on lumen measurements using optical coherence tomography (OCT) and on clinical outcomes after 12 months.

Method: In the OPTIMIS-study (Optimal lesion preparation before implantation of a MgBRS in patients with coronary artery stenosis), patients were randomly assigned to pre-dilatation with a scoring balloon or a standard non-compliant balloon before MgBRS implantation.

Background: Glioma is the most common malignant primary brain tumor and is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Modifiable risk factors remain unidentified. New advances in exposure assessment, genomic analyses, and statistical techniques permit more accurate evaluation of glioma risk associated with exogenous occupational or environmental exposures.

[Vegetarian and vegan diets among pregnant and breastfeeding women].

The prevalence of vegetarian and vegan diets among pregnant women in Denmark is rising. This paper reviews the maternal and neonatal outcomes associated with such diets, highlighting considerations for supplementation and potential risks, including B12-vitamin deficiency. Recommendations include early dietary assessment, B12-supplementation, and monitoring of key nutrients such as protein and iron.

Cardiac arrhythmia and hypoglycaemia among individuals with and without diabetes receiving haemodialysis (the CADDY study): a Danish multicentre cohort study.

Aims/hypothesis: We aimed to examine arrhythmias and hypoglycaemia among individuals with and without diabetes who are receiving haemodialysis and to investigate the association between arrhythmias and hypoglycaemia, hyperglycaemia and glycaemic variability.

Methods: This prospective multicentre cohort study included 70 participants on maintenance haemodialysis (35 with diabetes and 35 without diabetes). We employed implantable cardiac monitors for continuous heart rhythm monitoring in combination with periodic use of continuous glucose monitoring.
