Effects of analgesics during labor.

Four analgesic agents were studied during labour: pethidinesparine, ketamine hydrochloride, nitrous oxide-oxygen, and trichloroethylene in air (Trilene). Excellent analgesia was achieved with ketamine, however hallucinations were troublesome. Trichloroethylene analgesia was good without side-effects.
