Nontobacco Nicotine Dependence and Rates of Periprosthetic Joint Infection and Other Postoperative Complications in Shoulder Arthroplasty: A Retrospective Analysis.

Introduction: Nontobacco nicotine products, including e-cigarettes and vaping, are marketed as healthier alternatives to tobacco. However, the literature on nontobacco nicotine dependence (NTND) is scarce. It is important to analyze the influence of these products as they pertain to medical and surgical postoperative complications.

Study of the complex coacervation mechanism between ovalbumin and the strong polyanion PSSNa: influence of temperature and pH.

We studied the complex between ovalbumin and long flexible poly-(sodium 4-styrene sulfonate) as a function of pH and temperature. We used various techniques [turbidimetry, conductometry, dynamic light scattering, viscosimetry, and ultra-small-angle light scattering (USALS)] to fully characterize the coacervate complex. Different phases of complexation versus temperature were determined by turbidimetric analysis (pH, pH, and pH).

Study of the complex coacervation mechanism between the lysing enzyme from T. harzianum and polyallylamine hydrochloride.

Complex coacervation was achieved by mixing the lysing enzyme from T. harzianum (LYS) with polyallylamine hydrochloride (PAH). We show in this work that the study electrostatic complexes conformation can lead to the formation of dense complexes.

Stabilization of foams by the combined effects of an insoluble gas species and gelation.

Liquid foams are unstable due to aging processes such as drainage, coalescence or coarsening. Since these processes modify the foam structure, they can be a severe limitation to the elaboration of solid foams with controlled structures inherited from their liquid precursors. Such applications call for a thorough understanding of foam stabilization.
