Purpose: Food insecurity is prevalent among patients with cancer. Gaps in our understanding of preferences for food assistance among Latino or Hispanic, immigrant, and people with multiple races and ethnicities limit uptake of food assistance interventions among these populations. We aimed to deeply understand the needs and preferences and barriers to food assistance intervention uptake among low-income, predominantly Latino or Hispanic, immigrant, and people with multiple races and ethnicities and cancer to inform development of tailored interventions.

Artificial intelligence (AI)-based platforms for parasitic eggs may be developed using a robust image set with defined labels by reference microscopists. This study aimed to determine interobserver variability among reference microscopists in identifying parasite ova.

The goal of the treatment is to relieve symptoms, achieve duodenal mucosal healing, avoid long term complications, and ensure children´s appropriate growth, for which it´s necessary to follow a lifelong, nutritionally complete and healthy gluten free diet (GFD). The Celiac Disease Working Group of the Gastroenterology Committee of the Sociedad Argentina de Pediatría developed this guide based on expert consensus, aimed at gastroenterologists, pediatricians and primary care physicians with the objective of updating the following topics: Treatment. Definition of gluten free food.

Celiac disease is a chronic condition that affects approximately 1% of the world's population, becoming a public health problem. The numerous publications and international guides published in recent years make it necessary to update aspects related to its diagnosis. Highly sensitive and specific serological determinations have allowed the identification of the clinical polymorphism.

Evidence indicates that pRBC transfusions are associated with poor perioperative and oncological outcomes. The ARCA-1 (Perioperative Care in the Cancer Patient-1) study was designed to test the association between perioperative pRBC transfusions and postoperative morbidity and mortality in patients undergoing cancer surgery.

However, traditional production methods are often inefficient and unsustainable. This study focuses on enhancing -CA production efficiency through the heterologous expression of tyrosine ammonia-lyase (TAL) from in KT2440.

This study aimed to (i) characterize unpaid caregivers' subjective well-being, mental health symptoms, physical activity levels, and use of public spaces linked to the Care Block; (ii) identify caregivers' perceived built and social environment facilitators and barriers to accessing the Care Block facility; and (iii) document the community-led advocacy process to improve the Care Block program. The quantitative component included a subjective well-being and mental health symptoms survey, and the System for Observing Play and Recreation in Communities (SOPARC) instrument.

The lipophilic properties of the DHPMs have been demonstrated to be of pivotal importance in the design of new molecules. This work describes the synthesis and antitumoral activity of novel C5-substituted fatty-DHPMs against breast and gastric cancer cell lines.

Antioxidant additives of synthetic origin are added to matrices rich in PUFAs, such as sunflower oil (SO). However, there is controversy regarding their safety, and their low solubility in both water and fat has led to the search for new covalent modifications through lipophilicity.

This were achieved through isosteric substitution of the aryl group of the chalcone β-carbon with the furanyl moiety and structural modification of the α,β-unsaturated carbonyl system. The potential antitumor activity of these hybrids was evaluated in vivo on MCF-7 breast adenocarcinoma and HT-29 colorectal carcinoma cells, demonstrating cytotoxic activity with IC values ranging from 28.

The sample comprised Latinx youth up to 22 years old who were enrolled in mental healthcare and attended mental health-related sessions with their parent. One hundred transcripts depicting mental health visits were coded using the Conversation Analysis framework.

An improved understanding of factors informing mental health help-seeking is needed to identify possible intervention points to address gaps in accessing depression treatment. Participants (N = 406) read a vignette depicting a person with depressive symptoms.

Design: Quality improvement study comparing airway-related morbidity in two previously studied patient cohorts pre-intervention (Epoch 1) and immediately post-intervention (Epoch 2) with a third cohort thirty-six months post-intervention (Epoch 3).
Setting: PICU of the largest public children's hospital in El Salvador.
The dinoflagellate Alexandrium catenella is a well-known paralytic shellfish toxin producer that forms harmful algal blooms, repeatedly causing damage to Chilean coastal waters. The causes and behavior of algal blooms are complex and vary across different regions. As bacterial interactions with algal species are increasingly recognized as a key factor driving algal blooms, the present study identifies several bacterial candidates potentially associated with Chilean Alexandrium catenella.

We developed an agent-based model (ABM) to simulate the impacts of fare subsidies and congestion taxes on commuter decision-making and travel patterns. We report effects on mode share, travel time and transport-related physical activity (PA), including the variability of effects by socioeconomic strata (SES), and the trade-offs that may need to be considered in the implementation of these policies in a context with high levels of necessity-based physical activity.

We evaluated here a crucial immune regulatory pathway involving TYRO3, AXL, and MERTK (TAM) receptors and their ligands PROS1 and GAS6 in duodenal biopsies of controls and CD patients. We found increased GAS6 expression associated with downregulation of PROS1 and variable TAM receptors levels in duodenum tissue of CD patients.
