Real life data of ONC201 (dordaviprone) in pediatric and adult H3K27-altered recurrent diffuse midline glioma: Results of an international academia-driven compassionate use program.

Introduction: H3K27-altered diffuse midline gliomas (DMG) have limited therapeutic options and a very poor prognosis. Encouraging responses were observed in early clinical trials with ONC201. As ONC201 was unavailable in Europe, a compassionate use program supported by the French Authorities was launched for patients at progression after standard of care radiotherapy.

Chiral Perovskite Nanocrystals for Asymmetric Reactions: A Highly Enantioselective Strategy for Photocatalytic Synthesis of N-C Axially Chiral Heterocycles.

Catalytic approaches to generate enantiospecific chiral centers are the major premise of modern organic chemistry. Heterogeneous catalysis is responsible for the vast majority of chemical transformations, yet the direct employment of chiral solid catalysts for asymmetric synthesis is mostly overlooked. Here, we demonstrated that a heterogeneous metal-halide perovskite nanocrystal (NC) catalyst is active for asymmetric organic synthesis under visible-light activation.

Intracranial hypotension in a breast cancer patient treated with epidural blood patches.

We report the case of a patient with metastatic breast cancer who presented with an orthostatic headache. After a comprehensive diagnostic workup including MRI and lumbar puncture, we maintained the diagnosis of intracranial hypotension (IH). The patient was therefore treated with two consecutive non targeted epidural blood patches, resulting in the remission of IH symptoms for 6 months.

Bevacizumab in real-life patients with recurrent glioblastoma: benefit or futility?

Purpose: Angiogenesis plays a key role in glioblastoma, but most anti-angiogenic therapy trials have failed to change the poor outcome of this disease. Despite this, and because bevacizumab is known to alleviate symptoms, it is used in daily practice. We aimed to assess the real-life benefit in terms of overall survival, time to treatment failure, objective response, and clinical benefit in patients with recurrent glioblastoma treated with bevacizumab.

Innovating Strategies and Tailored Approaches in Neuro-Oncology.

Diffuse gliomas, the most frequent and aggressive primary central nervous system neoplasms, currently lack effective curative treatments, particularly for cases lacking the favorable prognostic marker mutation. Nonetheless, advances in molecular biology allowed to identify several druggable alterations in a subset of wild-type gliomas, such as and fusions, and hotspot mutations. Multi-tyrosine kinase inhibitors, such as regorafenib, also showed efficacy in the setting of recurrent glioblastoma.

Sustained Tumor Control With MAPK Inhibition in V600-Mutant Adult Glial and Glioneuronal Tumors.

Objective: To assess whether RAF and MEK inhibitors (RAFi/MEKi) can provide long-term clinical benefit in adult patients with V600-mutant glial and glioneuronal tumors (GGNTs), we analyzed tumor response and long-term outcome in a retrospective cohort.

Methods: We performed a retrospective search in the institutional databases of 6 neuro-oncology departments for adult patients with recurrent or disseminated V600-mutant GGNTs treated with RAFi/MEKi.

Results: Twenty-eight adults with recurrent or disseminated V600-mutant gangliogliomas (n = 9), pleomorphic xanthoastrocytomas (n = 9), and diffuse gliomas (n = 10) were included in the study.

Zika virus outbreak in New Caledonia and Guillain-Barré syndrome: a case-control study.

Zika virus (ZIKV) infection has been associated with neurologic disorders including Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS). In New Caledonia during the ZIKV outbreak (2014-2015), case-control and retrospective studies have been performed to assess the link between ZIKV and GBS. Among the 15 cases included, 33% had evidence of a recent ZIKV infection compared to only 3.

GLORI: A GNSS-R Dual Polarization Airborne Instrument for Land Surface Monitoring.

Global Navigation Satellite System-Reflectometry (GNSS-R) has emerged as a remote sensing tool, which is complementary to traditional monostatic radars, for the retrieval of geophysical parameters related to surface properties. In the present paper, we describe a new polarimetric GNSS-R system, referred to as the GLObal navigation satellite system Reflectometry Instrument (GLORI), dedicated to the study of land surfaces (soil moisture, vegetation water content, forest biomass) and inland water bodies. This system was installed as a permanent payload on a French ATR42 research aircraft, from which simultaneous measurements can be carried out using other instruments, when required.

Early Guillain-Barré Syndrome associated with acute dengue fever.

Various forms of neurological manifestations are reported in dengue fever. We describe here three cases of concomitant Guillain-Barré syndrome and dengue virus (DENV) infection during the largest DENV-1 outbreak in New Caledonia. Research of viral RNA was positive in both blood and CSF samples.

Observing the forest canopy with a new ultra-violet compact airborne lidar.

We have developed a new airborne UV lidar for the forest canopy and deployed it in the Landes forest (France). It is the first one that: (i) operates at 355 nm for emitting energetic pulses of 16 mJ at 20 Hz while fulfilling eye-safety regulations and (ii) is flown onboard an ultra-light airplane for enhanced flight flexibility. Temporal and Spatial Dynamics of Primary and Secondary Infection by Armillaria ostoyae in a Pinus pinaster Plantation.

ABSTRACT Epidemiological investigations were performed in a 3-ha maritime pine (Pinus pinaster) plantation established on a site heavily infested by Armillaria ostoyae. Geostatistics were used to examine the density and the distribution of the initial inoculum. Disease dynamics were monitored for 17 years after planting.

[Paraneoplastic limbic encephalitis associated with epidermoid lung carcinoma].

Paraneoplastic limbic encephalitis is a rare clinical entity, most often associated with small cell lung cancer. We report a case of a 54-year-old man presenting status epilepticus, cognitive dysfunction and loss of short term memory associated with epidermoid lung carcinoma. CT scan was normal whereas MRI revealed hyperintensities on T2WI and FLAIR images in the temporolimbic regions.
