[Primary ulcer of the small intestine. The value of peroperative endoscopy].

A case of primary non-specific small bowel ulceration in a 39-year-old man is reported. Because of massive bleeding, an exploratory laparotomy was performed and the jejunal ulcer was discovered by fiberoptic endoscopy through a small jejunal enterotomy. The authors review the literature about the incidence, the diagnostic approach, the pathology, the aetiopathogenesis and treatment of this rare disease.

[Cholestatic hepatitis during treatment with I.N.H. and rifampicin: arguments in favour of the hepatotoxicity of rifampicin (author's transl)].

It is generally accepted that hepatitis occurring during treatment with INH and rifampicine results from the hepatotoxicity of INH metabolites. A case is reported of cholestatic hepatitis occurring during such treatment, in which there was a previous history of an isolated hepatic affection. The administration of INH and rifampicin caused cholestasis alone, which reoccurred after rifampicin administration only.
