A physiologically-based model for simulation of color vision deficiency.

Color vision deficiency (CVD) affects approximately 200 million people worldwide, compromising the ability of these individuals to effectively perform color and visualization-related tasks. This has a significant impact on their private and professional lives. We present a physiologically-based model for simulating color vision.

Health status indicators among community-dwelling elders with arthritis: the Bambuí health and aging study.

Objective: To investigate the association of arthritis with health status indicators among elders living in Bambuí, Brazil.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 1606 elders using baseline data from the Bambuí Health and Aging Study, a population based cohort study of older adults. Arthritis was self-reported and defined as a physician diagnosis of arthritis or rheumatism, and/or chronic hand and knee symptoms.
