Evidence reveals that minoritized groups face disparities, underscoring the need for interventions to address behavioral health inequities. This review examined which minoritized populations are represented in evidence-based preventive interventions (EBPIs) and whether they equitably benefit from these programs. Using the Blueprints for Healthy Youth Development online clearinghouse, we synthesized findings from 240 high-quality experimental evaluations of EBPIs conducted in the U.

However, DOAC dosing inconsistent with FDA-approved product labels is common and associated with poor clinical outcomes.
Objectives: Identify DOAC dosing inconsistent with FDA-approved product labels in ambulatory care patients with NVAF; identify variables associated with dosing lower and higher than label.
Background: It is well-recognized that maintaining a regular yogic practice is associated with numerous physical and psychological health benefits. However, few studies have explored the possible psychological and neurophysiological mediators through which the component parts of yoga-ethics, breath regulation, postures, and meditation-work to produce salutary effects.
Purpose: To address this gap, we conducted a cluster randomized trial to test the following set of theory-based mechanisms: emotion regulation for ethics, self-control for breath regulation, discomfort and distress tolerance for postures, and mindfulness for meditation.
Background And Objectives: Onychomycosis is common and important to distinguish from other nail diseases. Rapid and accurate diagnosis is necessary for optimal patient treatment and outcome. Non-invasive diagnostic tools have increasing potential for nail diseases including onychomycosis.

Clinical practicum sites are in higher demand due to clinical hour increases by accrediting organizations. This article describes a successful approach to the inefficient use of administration and preceptor resources for APRN student practicum placements via an innovative academic health system partnership.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFActinic keratosis (AK) is a common skin cancer in situ that can progress to invasive SCC. Line-field confocal optical coherence tomography (LC-OCT) has emerged as a non-invasive imaging technique that can aid in diagnosis. Recently, machine-learning algorithms have been developed that can automatically assess the PRO score of AKs based on the dermo-epidermal junction's (DEJ's) protrusion on LC-OCT images.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground And Objectives: The histological PRO score (I-III) helps to assess the malignant potential of actinic keratoses (AK) by grading the dermal-epidermal junction (DEJ) undulation. Line-field confocal optical coherence tomography (LC-OCT) provides non-invasive real-time PRO score quantification. From LC-OCT imaging data, training of an artificial intelligence (AI), using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for automated PRO score quantification of AK in vivo may be achieved.

Hypertension control rates are also lower for minority group members compared with White Americans. However, little research has employed well-established theoretical perspectives on health behavior, such as the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and the Model of Goal-Directed Behavior (MGB), to better understand racial differences in rates of hypertension control.

As aging is also associated with reductions in cardiovascular fitness, age-related network connectivity differences reported by past studies could be partially due to age-related declines in fitness. Here, we use data collected as part of a 16-week exercise intervention to explore relationships between fitness and functional connectivity.

Line-field confocal optical coherence tomography (LC-OCT) is a new tool with the aim to change that. The aim of the study was to evaluate LC-OCT for the discrimination between nevi and melanomas.

Line-field confocal optical coherence tomography (LC-OCT) is able to display morphological features of BCC subtypes with good histological correlation. The aim of this study was to investigate the accuracy of LC-OCT in diagnosing clinically unsure cases of BCC compared to dermoscopy alone and in distinguishing between superficial BCCs and other BCC subtypes.

Hypothesis/objectives: To determine the efficacy and safety of RAB in dogs with lymphoma.

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) has been able to establish itself in recent years not only in academic-scientific, but also in everyday dermatological practice. Its focus lies on epithelial tumors of the skin, which can be diagnosed intuitively and within a few seconds. Thus, basal cell carcinomas, actinic keratoses, and different stages of field cancerization can be diagnosed and monitored for response to therapy or possible recurrence.

Moisturizers are widely used to increase hydration and barrier integrity of the skin; however, there are contrasting observations on their in vivo effects in real-life settings. In cosmetic studies, corneometers and tewameters are traditionally used to assess skin hydration.

Non-invasive diagnostic techniques can support the diagnosis in real time, avoiding unnecessary biopsies. This study aimed to preliminarily define main imaging criteria and histological correlations of actinic keratosis (AK), Bowen's disease (BD) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) using the novel device line-field confocal optical coherence tomography (LC-OCT).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFIt is known that actinic keratoses (AKs) can progress to invasive squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). The histological PRO grading of AKs is based on the growth pattern of basal keratinocytes and relates to their progression risk. AKs can be non-invasively characterized by line-field confocal optical coherence tomography (LC-OCT).

However, given that poor design and incorrect analysis may lead to biased outcomes, simply employing an RCT is not enough to say an intervention "works." This paper applies a subset of the Society for Prevention Research (SPR) Standards of Evidence for Efficacy, Effectiveness, and Scale-up Research, with a focus on internal validity (making causal inferences) to determine the degree to which RCTs of preventive interventions are well-designed and analyzed, and whether authors provide a clear description of the methods used to report their study findings.

Treatments vary from Mohs surgery to topical therapy, depending on the subtype. Dermoscopy, reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) and optical coherence tomography (OCT) have gained a foothold in daily clinical practice to optimize diagnosis and subtype-oriented treatment.
