Pre-surgical Tumor Marking by Tattooing in Patients Offered with Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy (Nact) for Advance Staged Oral Carcinomas.

We described a novel technique of marking the oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) tumors before the pre-operative neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT). The pre-operative NACT may shrink the tumor, making it difficult for the oncosurgeon to identify the pre-NACT tumor area to be included in the surgical resection. Difficulty lies in exact topographic replication/documentation of examination findings on superficial or mucosal surface levels, primarily due to limited surface landmarks.

Assessing the efficacy of Laser pulpotomy versus conventional pulpotomy in primary teeth: A systematic review and meta-analysis of clinical trials.

Purpose: This study systematically reviewed the clinical and radiographic outcomes of laser versus conventional pulpotomy in primary teeth. It also compared the success and effectiveness of different lasers to enhance the understanding and use of laser pulpotomy as an alternative treatment.

Methodology: An electronic search was carried out in PubMed and Cochrane from 1st January 1999 to 31st December 2023.

Ortho-Endo Management of Traumatically Intruded Immature Incisors: A Case Report of Novel Interventional Approach With 20 Months Follow-Up.

The case report describes the successful interdisciplinary management of a nine-year-old girl who suffered from traumatic intrusion and rotation of her immature teeth with 12 mm apical displacement of teeth 11 and 21 and 10 mm of teeth 12 and 22. It emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive and contemporary approach, which includes orthodontic intervention and regenerative endodontic procedures (REP). The report follows the CARE (case report) guidelines.

Clinical evaluation of periodontal status in subjects with multibracket appliances and the role of age and gender during initial months of fixed orthodontic treatment.

Background: During fixed orthodontic treatment, the presence of various fixed appliances like brackets in the oral cavity for a long period leads to various changes in the oral microflora, ultimately affecting the periodontal health of the teeth. Hence, the current study was performed to clinically assess the periodontal status of the subjects undergoing fixed orthodontic treatment and to evaluate the role of age and gender during the first 6 months of treatment.

Materials And Methods: Forty-one subjects (26 females and 15 males) in the age range of 12-28 years scheduled for fixed orthodontic treatment were included in the study.

Prevalence of Titanium Hypersensitivity in Patients with Titanium Implants: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.

Background: With increase in exposure to titanium in daily life and its use in medical procedures, there is a greater chance for developing titanium hypersensitivity. Our aim and objective is to examine whether patient patients with titanium implants had a greater incidence of titanium hypersensitivity or not. Titanium is widely considered to have good biocompatibility.

A Comparative Evaluation of Three Different Dental Age Estimation Methods in India: A Test of Ethnic Variability.

Aim: The present study aimed to evaluate and compare the applicability of Demirjian, Willems, and Haavikko methods of dental age estimation in southeastern (Dravidian ethnicity) and northwestern regions (Aryan ethnicity) of the Indian population.

Materials And Methods: The study includes the orthopantomographs (OPGs) of 303 individuals (173 males and 130 females) of age ranging from 5 to 14 years. The participants in the present research were evaluated under two study groups: group I: participants of the southeastern region and group II: participants of the northwestern region.

Intraosseous Leiomyoma of the Mandible: A Case Report of the Rare Entity and Review of Literature.

Introduction: Leiomyoma is a rare tumor of smooth muscle origin with a very low incidence in the maxillofacial region. Intraosseous occurrence of oral leiomyoma is even rare with involvement of mandible followed by maxilla.

Aim: The purpose of this paper is to present a case of intraosseous leiomyoma of the left mandibular angle region with the review of literature describing this rare entity.

Fiberscope Assisted Videolaryngoscope Intubation in the Surgical Treatment of TMJ Ankylosis.

Temporomandibular ankylosis is characterized by the formation of a bony mass which replaces normal temporomandibular joint (TMJ) articulation. Anaesthetic management in these patients requires expertise and dependable intubation technique that allows successful intubation due to anticipated difficulty in accessing the airway. A novel technique of endotracheal intubation is used for the successful airway management during the surgical treatment in patients with TMJ ankylosis with the assistance of fiberscope and GlideScope(®) videolaryngoscope.

Evaluation of socio-demographic variables affecting the periodontal health of pregnant women in Chandigarh, India.

Background: The literature is replete with reports that pregnant women have an increased level of periodontal disease as compared with non-pregnant women of the same age. There are many studies correlating the effect of periodontal disease on the adverse pregnancy outcomes. The development of periodontal diseases during pregnancy can be influenced by factors such as preexisting oral conditions, general health, and socio-cultural background.

The Rieger syndrome: orofacial manifestations. Case report of a rare condition.

Rieger syndrome is a rare, autosomal dominant disorder due to developmental arrest of tissues derived from neural crest ectoderm in the third trimester. It is characterized by abnormalities of the anterior chamber of the eye coincident with dental and craniofacial anomalies. Early recognition of dental anomalies aids in detection of the syndrome and prevents progressive loss of vision.
