Background: Options for 'treatment-resistant bipolar depression' (TRBD) are limited. Two small, short-term, trials of pramipexole suggest it might be an option.

Aims: To evaluate the clinical effectiveness and safety of pramipexole in the management of TRBD.

Climate change, the overconsumption of fossil fuels, and rapid population and economic growth have collectively driven a growing emphasis on environmental sustainability and the need for effective resource management. Chemicals or materials not currently regulated are known as contaminants of emergent concern (CECs). Nevertheless, wastewater is thought to be its main source, and worries about its probable presence in the environment are growing due to its potential damage to human and environmental health.

Quinolone antibiotics are a crucial class of synthetic antibacterial agents, widely utilized due to their broad spectrum of antibacterial activity. Due to the development of antimicrobial resistance, the potency of quinolone drugs decreased. Many conventional methods have been developed to elevate amination rate and to improve yield.

Macrophages hold tremendous promise as effectors of cancer immunotherapy, but the best strategies to provoke these cells to attack tumors remain unknown. Here, we evaluated the therapeutic potential of targeting two distinct macrophage immune checkpoints: CD47 and CD24. We found that antibodies targeting these antigens could elicit maximal levels of phagocytosis when combined together in vitro.

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease mainly affecting the joints categorized by inflammation, swelling of the synovium and decrease in the joint movement. Bakuchiol, a meroterpene class of natural product present in Psoralea corylifolia known to possess anti-inflammatory effects by a variety of mechanisms. However, its effects in rheumatoid arthritis still remain unclear.

To evaluate the therapeutic potential of curcumin tagged cilostazol solid nano dispersion in wistar rat streptozotocin-nicotinamide-induced diabetic nephropathy. Cilostazol (CLT), a Phosphodiesterase (PDE) inhibitor has an inhibitory effect on reactive oxygen species (ROS), and Curcumin (Cur), an antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory, are water-soluble. Solid Nano dispersions were developed using the "Box-Behnken Design" and emulsion solvent evaporation procedure to improve the solubility and bioavailability.

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory condition that affects the airways, posing a substantial health threat to a large number of people worldwide. Bronchodilators effectively alleviate symptoms of airway obstruction by inducing relaxation of the smooth muscles in the airways, thereby reducing breathlessness and enhancing overall quality of life. The drug targeting to lungs poses significant challenges; however, this issue can be resolved by employing nano- and micro-particles drug delivery systems.

Dr. Aloysius Alzheimer, a German neuropathologist and psychiatrist, recognized the primary instance of Alzheimer's disease (AD) for a millennium, and this ailment, along with its related dementias, remains a severe overall community issue related to health. Nearly fifty million individuals worldwide suffer from dementia, with Alzheimer's illness contributing to between 60 and 70% of the instances, estimated through the World Health Organization.

In females, Alzheimer's disease (AD) incidences increases as compared to males due to estrogen deficiency after menopause. Estrogen therapy is the mainstay therapy for menopause and associated complications. Estrogen, a hormone with multifaceted physiological functions, has been implicated in AD pathophysiology.

Diabetes-induced kidney damage represents a substantial health hazard, emphasizing the imperative to explore potential therapeutic interventions. This study investigates the nephroprotective activity of flavonoid-rich extracts from leaves in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. The flavonoid-rich extracts of leaves was obtained using a standard procedure.

Background: Alzheimer's disease is a neurological dysfunction of the brain caused by neurodegeneration and oxidative stress. Some viruses, such as herpes viruses, HSV-1, and HSV-2, are causative agents of Alzheimer's disease and result in β-amyloid peptide and tau protein accumulation in the brain. Some antiviral drugs, such as valacyclovir, acyclovir, and foscarnet, reduce amyloid-beta and leaves are also reported for their antiviral properties.

180 domains walls (DWs) of head-to-head/tail-to-tail (H-H/T-T) type in ferroelectric (FE) materials are of immense interest for a comprehensive understanding of the FE attributes as well as harnessing them for new applications. Our first principles calculation suggests that such DW formation in hafnium zirconium oxide (HZO) based FEs depends on the unique attributes of the HZO unit cell, such as polar-spacer segmentation. Cross pattern of the polar and spacer segments in two neighboring domains along the polarization direction (where polar segment of one domain aligns with the spacer segment of another) boosts the stability of such DWs.

Diabetes is a metabolic illness marked by elevated levels of glucose in the bloodstream due to the inadequate production or use of insulin in the body. Diabetes can result in a range of consequences, with the most prevalent being cardiovascular disease, renal failure, vision loss, and limb removal. Natural compounds isolated from different sources, like colostrum, are the most important compounds for the treatment of diabetes.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: This study has important ethnopharmacological implications since it systematically investigated the therapeutic potential of Bacopa monnieri(L.) Wettst. (Brahmi) in treating neurological disorders characterized by oxidative stress-a growing issue in the aging population.

Although the brain is very accessible to nutrition and oxygen, it can be difficult to deliver medications to malignant brain tumours. To get around some of these issues and enable the use of therapeutic pharmacological substances that wouldn't typically cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB), convection-enhanced delivery (CED) has been developed. It is a cutting-edge strategy that gets beyond the blood-brain barrier and enables targeted drug administration to treat different neurological conditions such as brain tumours, Parkinson's disease, and epilepsy.

Estrogens are classically considered essential hormonal signals, but they exert profound effects in a number of physiological and pathological states, including glucose homeostasis and insulin resistance. Estrogen deficiency after menopause in most women leads to increased androgenicity and changes in body composition, and it is recommended to manipulate the β-cell function of the pancreas, insulin-induced glucose transport, and hepatic glucose output, hence, the increasing incidence of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Recently, studies have reported that gut biota alteration due to estrogen deficiency contributes to altered energy metabolism and, hence, accentuates the pathology of diabetes mellitus.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) have a long history in the healthcare system due to their therapeutic potential. These NSAIDs cause ulcerogenicity, stomach pains, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, mucosa bleeding, and pancreatitis when used moderately and consistently. With researchers, managing the aforementioned adverse effects therapeutically is getting increasingly difficult.

Health-related quality of life is rapidly becoming recognized as an important indicator of how a disease affects patient lives and for evaluating the quality of care, especially for chronic conditions such as chronic kidney disease (CKD). This study is an attempt to assess the quality of life in patients with chronic kidney disease at MMIMSR and also identify characteristics that may be associated with their worsening quality of life. This cross-sectional investigation was conducted at the in-patient department (IPD) of the MMIMSR hospital.

Background: There have been several neglected infectious pathogens that have reemerged in the last few decades, including the monkeypox virus, a virus from the orthopoxviral genus that causes monkeypox and is transmitted between animals and humans. The human monkeypox outbreak has spread to several different countries. Because of the outbreak's unusually high case count and lack of connections to endemic nations, there are concerns that the monkeypox transmission pattern may have changed.

Degenerative central nervous system (CNS) disorders and traumatic brain injuries are common nowadays. These may induce the loss of neuronal cells and delicate connections essential for optimal CNS function. The CNS tissue has restricted regeneration ability, hindering the development of effective therapies.
