The metabolites of gut microbiota show favorable therapeutic effects on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), but the active metabolites and mechanisms against NAFLD have not been documented. The aim of the study was to investigate the active metabolites and mechanisms of gut microbiota against NAFLD by network pharmacology. We obtained a total of 208 metabolites from the gutMgene database and retrieved 1256 targets from similarity ensemble approach (SEA) and 947 targets from the SwissTargetPrediction (STP) database.

In this study, solvent extraction of indium using phosphonium ionic liquid (Cyphos IL 104) as an extractant and its mathematical model was proposed for prediction of In(III) ion transport across a FSSLM (flat-sheet-supported liquid membrane). Solvent extraction experiments on indium have been carried out under various experimental conditions in order to assert some fundamental parameters using mathematical analysis for mass transfer process.

Aims: Female sub-fertility, a prominent complication due to Type 1 diabetes (T1D), is generally attributed to disturbances in menstrual cycles and/or ovarian defects/disorders. T1D women, however, are high in oxidative stress, although the impact of the same on their reproduction and associated events remains unknown. Therefore, we assessed the repercussions of elevated oxidative stress on the sperm fate (storage/utilization) in the reproductive tract milieu of T1D females and their fertility using the Drosophila T1D model (Df[dilp1-5]), which lacks insulin-like peptides and displays reduced female fertility.

Beyond the Hip Labrum: A Pictorial Review.

Magnetic resonance arthrography and 3T magnetic resonance imaging of the hip are a technique commonly performed in young, physically active patients presenting with pain relating to the hip, with the focus on assessing for the presence of labral tears and femoroacetabular impingement. Abnormal signal within the labrum can be misleading, however, as labral tears are a frequent incidental finding and have been identified in a large proportion of the asymptomatic population. A range of extralabral conditions can cause hip-related pain in young patients, including pathology related to the bones, joints, and periarticular soft tissues.

Genitofemoral peripheral nerve stimulator implantation for refractory groin pain: a case report.

Purpose: Genitofemoral neuralgia (GFN) is a chronic pain condition that may be refractory to commonly employed treatment modalities. Implantation of a peripheral nerve stimulator (PNS) may provide significant pain relief; however, few reports have described placement of and response to a GFN PNS implant.

Clinical Features: We implanted a StimRouter® PNS in a 42-yr-old male with severe GFN that did not respond to pharmacologic and interventional pain management modalities and impaired all aspects of his function and quality of life.
