Unlabelled: Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss is a common emergency in otolaryngology, with an increasing incidence among younger age groups. This study retrospectively analyzes peripheral blood inflammatory markers in SSNHL patients under 24 years-old to explore the potential prognostic value of the immune inflammatory response in young SSNHL patients. This retrospective analysis included 53 SSNHL patients who received treatment from January 2016 to December 2023.

However, the influence of GO on the nucleation and growth of C-S-H gel at nanoscale is unexplored. This study investigates this mechanism by molecular dynamics simulation at nano scale.

This study aimed to longitudinally assess quality of life indicators and their association with overall survival (OS) in these patients.
Methods: A total of 232 patients were included in the study, and their quality of life was prospectively assessed at different time points using the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) 30-item core quality of life questionnaire (QLQ-C30) and the disease-specific esophageal module (QLQ-OES18).
The microenvironment mediated by the microglia (MG) M1/M2 phenotypic switch plays a decisive role in the neuronal fate and cognitive function of Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, the impact of metabolic reprogramming on microglial polarization and its underlying mechanism remains elusive. This study reveals that cordycepin improved cognitive function and memory in APP/PS1 mice, as well as attenuated neuronal damage by triggering MG-M2 polarization and metabolic reprogramming characterized by increased OXPHOS and glycolysis, rather than directly protecting neurons.

The propensity score matching (PSM), logistic regression and Cox proportional hazards model were used in this study. A total of 13,937 patients were included.

Scoparone is the major bioactive component in which has been widely used to treat NASH in traditional Chinese medicine. However, the underlying mechanisms of scoparone against NASH are not yet fully understood, which hinders the development of effective therapeutic agents for NASH.

Methods: The lasso-Cox model was used to identify the candidate molecule. A nomogram was conducted to develop the survival model (molecular score, MS) based on the molecular features.

The rapid construction of prefabricated components of reinforced-concrete structures using three-dimensional (3D) printing of concrete as a permanent formwork is a promising way to combine 3D printing organically with traditional construction technology. The bonding property of the contact interface between the 3D-printed permanent formwork and internal postcast concrete is crucial for maintaining the overall mechanical performance of the 3D-printed structure. In this study, the roughness of contour formworks was quantified by using 3D scanning.

Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 1504 patients with pathologic stage I LUAD who underwent surgical resection at Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital and Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center. Cox proportional hazard regression analyses were performed to identify indicators associated with a high risk of recurrence, while the Kaplan-Meier method and Log-rank test were employed to compare recurrence-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS) between patients with ACT and those without it.
Background: The current nodal (pN) classification still has limitations in stratifying the prognosis of small cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients with pathological classifications T1-2N0-2M0. Thus. This study aimed to develop and validate a modified nodal classification based on a multicenter cohort.

Pathological lymph node status(pN) of lung cancer affects the treatment strategy after surgery while systematic lymph node dissection(SLND) is always unsatisfied.
Methods: We reviewed the clinicopathological features of 2,696 patients with LUAD and one single lesion ≤ 5 cm who underwent SLND in addition to lung resection at the Sun Yat-Sen University Cancer Center.
Introduction: At present, clinical factors and hematological indicators have been proved to have great potential in predicting the prognosis of cancer patients, and no one has combined these two valuable indicators to establish a prognostic model for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) patients with stage T1-3N0M0 after R0 resection. To verify, we aimed to combine these potential indicators to establish a prognostic model.
Methods: Stage T1-3N0M0 ESCC patients from two cancer centers (including training cohort: N = 819, and an external validation cohort: N = 177)-who had undergone esophagectomy in 1995-2015 were included.
Background: Prone position surgery tends to limit chest wall mobility with decreased compliance and increased airway pressure, which can increase the incidence of postoperative pulmonary complications, including atelectasis, pneumonia, and respiratory failure. There is a lack of guidelines recommending mechanical ventilation parameters in prone position surgery. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of pressure-controlled ventilation (PCV) with end-inspiratory flow rate as the target on percutaneous nephrolithotripsy patients under general anesthesia in the prone position.

Methods: Patients' data were used to analyze the proportion of KRAS G12C mutation.
Background: The study on skip-N2 metastasis in small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) is lacking. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the prognostic significance of skip-N2 metastasis based on a multicenter cohort.
Methods: We collected 176 SCLC patients with pathological categories T1-4N1-2M0 from four hospitals in China.
Purpose: Microglia-neuron crosstalk is critically involved in synaptic plasticity and degeneration by releasing diverse mediators in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Therefore, determining contributors that modulate the systemic microenvironment is essential. Cordycepin (CCS) is a novel neuroprotective compound obtained from Cordyceps militaris.

However, their role in thymic epithelial tumors (TETs) remains to be elucidated. We aimed to investigate whether the preoperative tumor biomarkers carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and neuron-specific enolase (NSE) could serve as independent predictors of postoperative prognosis in patients with TETs.
