Introduction: c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) regulates various biological processes through the phosphorylation cascade and is closely associated with numerous diseases, including inflammation, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological disorders. Therefore, JNKs have emerged as potential targets for disease treatment.

Areas Covered: This review compiles the patents and literatures concerning JNK inhibitors through retrieving relevant information from the SciFinder, Google Patents databases, and PubMed from 2015 to the present.

As the most common form of epigenetic regulation by RNA, N methyladenosine (mA) modification is closely involved in physiological processes, such as growth and development, stem cell renewal and differentiation, and DNA damage response. Meanwhile, its aberrant expression in cancer tissues promotes the development of malignant tumors, as well as plays important roles in proliferation, metastasis, drug resistance, immunity and prognosis. This close association between mA and cancers has garnered substantial attention in recent years.
