View Article and Find Full Text PDFIn order to investigate the effects of microwave curing on the microstructure of the interfacial transition zone of mortar prepared with a composite binder containing glass powder and to explain the mechanism of microwave curing on the improvement of compressive strength, in this study, the compressive strength of mortar under microwave curing was compared against mortar cured using (a) normal curing at 20 ± 1 °C with relative humidity (RH) > 90%; (b) steam curing at 40 °C for 10 h; and (c) steam curing at 80 °C for 4 h. The microstructure of the interfacial transition zone of mortar under the four curing regimes was analyzed by Scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results showed that the improvement of the compressive strength of mortar under microwave curing can be attributed to the amelioration of the microstructure of the interfacial transition zone.

We present a series of 1131 patients who were treated between 1981 and 2013 using the modified L-shaped angular surgical approach to excision of the sublingual gland, and describe the risks and benefits compared with the conventional approach. A total of 365 patients were treated with the conventional approach, while the other 766 have been treated since 1991 using the modified approach. There were no serious complications or recurrences during or after the operation in the modified series.

Methods: According to the completely random design, the plasma levels of vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) and thromboxane B2 (TX2) of 19 patients with weifen syndrome and 13 patients with qifen syndrome (qi phase syndrome) were detected by radioimmunoassay. The plasma levels of VIP and TX2 at different stages of weifen syndrome and qifen syndrome were observed.

A functional and nutritious substrate for soilless culture, which consists of peanut shell, sawdust, vermiculite, chicken manure, coal cinder, etc, was used to grow cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers in this experiment. The results showed that the substrate was rich in organic matter, N, available P and K, in which the nutrients were basically in balance for three vegetables. High content of microorganisms and high activity of soil enzymes were propitious to the transformation of organic components in the substrate.
