Background: The non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio (NHHR) is a newly developed lipid parameter. However, the current research has only explored the relationship with lumbar spine bone mineral density, lacking studies on bone mineral density at other sites, total body bone mineral density, and an analysis of risk factors. This study aims to determine the potential association between NHHR and lumbar BMD, increase awareness of the impact of lipid levels on bone health.

Bone metabolic diseases have been tormented and are plaguing people worldwide due to the lack of effective and thorough medical interventions and the poor understanding of their pathogenesis. Non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) are heterogeneous transcripts that cannot encode the proteins but can affect the expressions of other genes. Autophagy is a fundamental mechanism for keeping cell viability, recycling cellular contents through the lysosomal pathway, and maintaining the homeostasis of the intracellular environment.

Background: Primary osteoporosis has increasingly become one of the risk factors affecting human health, and the clinical effect and action mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of primary osteoporosis have been widely studied. Previous studies have confirmed that in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), Drynaria rhizome has a role in improving bone density. In this study, a tandem mass tag (TMT)-based proteomic analysis was conducted to derive potential targets for treatment in postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Any imbalance in this process can cause disturbances in bone metabolism and lead to the development of many associated bone diseases. Autophagy, one of the fundamental pathways for the degradation and recycling of proteins and organelles, is a fundamental process that regulates cellular and organismal homeostasis.

Osteoporosis is increasingly becoming a serious problem affecting the quality of life of the older population. Several experimental studies have shown that Chinese medicine has a definite effect on improving osteoporosis. Based on transcriptome sequencing, we analyzed the differential gene expression and mechanism of the related signaling pathways.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFOsteoporosis is a common metabolic bone disorder typically characterized by decreased bone mass and an increased risk of fracture. At present, the detailed molecular mechanism underlying the development of osteoporosis remains to be elucidated. Accumulating evidence shows that non‑coding (nc)RNAs, such as microRNAs (miRNAs), long ncRNAs (lncRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs), play significant roles in osteoporosis through the post‑transcriptional regulation of gene expression as regulatory factors.

The important roles that Circular RNAs (circRNAs) play in tumor progression, and exosome-mediated intracellular communication has been recognized as a crucial factor in the pathogenesis of MM. However, the role of exosome-derived circRNAs (exo-circRNAs) in MM and MM-induced PN remains elusive.

Protein A chromatography is generally less effective at removing antibody aggregates under typical conditions, and in most cases aggregate removal relies on a subsequent polishing chromatography. Here we describe a procedure for effective removal of antibody aggregates using the mixed-mode chromatography resin Capto MMC ImpRes.

So far, molecular mechanism of Lrps for regulating antibiotics biosynthesis in actinomycetes remains largely unexplored. This study, for the first time in Streptomyces lincolnensis, identified an Lrp (named as SLCG_Lrp) associated with lincomycin production.

Here, we first identified a TetR family transcriptional regulator (TFR), SLCG_2919, which negatively modulates lincomycin biosynthesis in LCGL. SLCG_2919 was found to specifically bind to promoter regions of the lincomycin biosynthetic gene cluster ( cluster), including 25 structural genes, three resistance genes, and one regulatory gene, and to inhibit the transcription of these genes, demonstrating a directly regulatory role in lincomycin biosynthesis.

Numerous published systematic reviews and meta-analyses evaluating the effectiveness of 2 approaches remain inconclusive. In order to propose a significant principle to make decisions for comparing clinical safety and efficacy of unilateral versus bilateral PKP for treating OVCFs patients based on the currently best available evidence, a systematic review of overlapping meta-analysis was conducted.

Streptomyces lincolnensis is generally utilized for the production of lincomycin A (Lin-A), a clinically useful antibiotic to treat Gram-positive bacterial infections. Three methylation steps, catalyzed by three different S-adenosylmethionine (SAM)-dependent methyltransferases, are required in the biosynthesis of Lin-A, and thus highlight the significance of methyl group supply in lincomycin production. In this study, we demonstrate that externally supplemented SAM cannot be taken in by cells and therefore does not enhance Lin-A production.

Head smut, caused by the fungal pathogen Sporisorium reilianum, poses a threat to maize production worldwide. ZmWAK, a cell wall-associated receptor kinase, confers quantitative resistance to head smut disease. Here, two near-isogenic lines (NILs), susceptible line Huangzao4 and its ZmWAK-converted resistant line Huangzao4R, were used to decipher the role of ZmWAK in head smut resistance.
