Objective: This study aimed to investigate the causal relationship between inflammatory cytokines and oral cavity cancer risk using Mendelian randomization analysis and experimental validation.
Methods: Two-sample Mendelian randomization was conducted using summary-level genome-wide association study data on 41 inflammatory cytokines and oral cavity cancer risk in Europeans. Single nucleotide polymorphisms associated with cytokines (p < 5 × 10-6) and oral cancer were selected as instrumental variables, excluding those in linkage disequilibrium.
The increasing use of antiviral drugs, combined with an aging population, has resulted in a growing number of older adults living with HIV. Unfortunately, high-risk sexual behavior among older individuals with HIV has led to HIV retransmission. Our study aimed to analyze the sexual behavior of elderly men with HIV in Chongqing and evaluate the factors influencing high-risk sexual behavior using a logistic regression model.

This study aimed to explore consistent condom use and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP)-eligible behaviours and their correlates among sexually active older adults in China.
Study Design: Cross-sectional study.
Background: A substantial number of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infections have been diagnosed and reported, yet not all reported patients have received treatment, leading to uncertainties in the progression of the virus within these cases. This study aimed to assess the rate of HCV RNA positivity in the reported cases in Chongqing, China and identify key groups.
Methods: An investigation was conducted on 6,333 hepatitis C cases who were reported in the China Information System for Disease Control and Prevention in 17 districts of Chongqing, China from 2004 to 2021.
In this study, we report a high-performance acetone gas sensor utilizing a bilayer structure composed of a ZnO nanorod top layer and a ZnFeO nanoparticle-decorated ZnO nanorod bottom layer. ZnO nanorods were synthesized via a water-bath method, after which the ZnFeO nanoparticle-decorated ZnO nanorods were prepared using a simple immersion and calcination method. SEM and TEM revealed the porous morphology of the samples and the formation of ZnO-ZnFeO heterojunctions.

Rhytidectomy has made great progress in the past 50 years, especially after the proposition of the concept of superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS). Our previous research had classified SMAS rhytidectomy into basic SMAS rhytidectomy (B-SMAS) and comprehensive SMAS rhytidectomy (C-SMAS) according to whether the treatment of SMAS aponeurosis is combined with retaining ligament, fat pad, mimetic muscles, etc. The purpose of this paper is to compare the outcomes of the 2 methods.

We collected the history of HIV antibody testing, sexual behavior and initial CD4 + T cell (CD4) count of newly diagnosed HIV/AIDS to determine the time and location of HIV infections. Of the included 612 cases, 17.

Among the viral subtypes, CRF07_BC accounted for 73.2% (287/392) and CRF01_AE accounted for 20.

Objective: To assess the efficacy of VMMC in preventing incident HIV infection among MSM.
Poly-L-lactin acid (PLLA) has been widely used in the field of bio-medicine. In 2004, as an injectable material, PLLA was approved by the FDA to treat AIDS-related facial atrophy. Since then, several injectable stuffs containing PLLA have been approved for marketing in various countries and regions.

Methods: We recruited community-dwelling adults aged 50 and above in five Chinese cities between June 2020 and December 2022.
Background: Sexual function is an important yet understudied aspect of overall health and well-being in older adults. We aimed to examine sexual function and its correlates among people 50 years and older in China.
Methods: We enrolled people aged 50 years and older recruited from four regions in China between September 2021 and July 2022 in a multicenter cross-sectional study.
Background: Sexual activity is important to the holistic health of older adults. However, the sexual lives of older adults are understudied. We aimed to investigate the prevalence and correlates of sexual activity and sexual satisfaction among older adults in China.

Study Design: The study used a cross-sectional design.
Methods: Data were collected through face-to-face interviews using a structured questionnaire by convenience sampling from July to December 2021.
Despite the proven virological advantages, there remains some controversy regarding whether first-line integrase strand transfer inhibitors (INSTIs)-based antiretroviral therapy (ART) contributes to reducing mortality of people living with HIV (PLHIV) in clinical practice. Here we report a retrospective study comparing all-cause mortality among PLHIV in China who were on different initial ART regimens (nevirapine, efavirenz, dolutegravir, lopinavir, and others [including darunavir, raltegravie, elvitegravir and rilpivirine]) between 2017 and 2019. A total of 41,018 individuals were included across China, representing 21.

Methods: A multicenter cross-sectional study was conducted between April 2021 and April 2022.
Background: In 2003, China implemented free antiretroviral therapy (ART) for people living with HIV (PLHIV), establishing an eligibility threshold of CD4 < 200 cells/μl. Subsequently, the entry criteria were revised in 2012 (eligibility threshold: CD4 ≤ 350 cells/μl), 2014 (CD4 ≤ 500 cells/μl), and 2016 (treat-all). However, the impact of treat-all policy on HIV care and treatment indicators in China is unknown.

Methods: Blood samples were taken from 894 MSM in Chongqing who had recently been diagnosed with HIV-1 infection and had not yet started getting treatment.
The morbidity of oral cancer is high in the world. Oridonin is a traditional Chinese medicine that can effectively inhibit oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) growth, but its mechanism remains unclear. Our previous data showed that oridonin inhibited CAL-27 cell proliferation and promoted apoptosis.

This protocol describes the design of a study on sexual well-being and its correlates among older adults in China.
Methods And Analysis: We present the protocol for a multicentre observational study to investigate sexual well-being among Chinese older adults (SWELL).
Purpose: This study aimed to assess the proportion of depression and its associated factors among men living with HIV/AIDS and aged 50 and over in Chongqing, China.
Methods: This cross-sectional study included 774 men diagnosed as HIV/AIDS and aged 50 and over in four regions. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews with a structured questionnaire.
One of the most prevalent malignant primary brain tumors is primary glioma. Although glutathione peroxidase 8 (GPX8) is intimately associated with carcinogenesis, its function in primary gliomas has not yet been thoroughly understood. Here, we leveraged Chinese Glioma Genome Atlas (CGGA), The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), and Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) database to investigate the association between GPX8 and overall survival (OS) of patients with primary gliomas, and our results showed that GPX8 expression was negatively correlated with OS.

Background: Gay apps are smartphone-based geosocial networking apps where many men who have sex with men (MSM) socialize and seek sex partners. Existing studies showed that gay app use is associated with greater odds of high-risk sexual behaviors and potentially more HIV infections. However, little is known about this behavior among young MSM.
