Purpose: In laparoscopic liver surgery, registering preoperative CT-extracted 3D models with intraoperative laparoscopic video reconstructions of the liver surface can help surgeons predict critical liver anatomy. However, the registration process is challenged by non-rigid deformation of the organ due to intraoperative pneumoperitoneum pressure, partial visibility of the liver surface, and surface reconstruction noise.
Methods: First, we learn point-by-point descriptors and encode location information to alleviate the limitations of descriptors in location perception.
Background: Whether the Western pT1acN0M0 gastric cancer (GC) patients who met the Japanese expanded criteria could be the candidates for endoscopic treatment (ET) remains unclear because of unknown long-term survival outcomes.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study using data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) program was performed. The survival differences between pT1acN0M0 gastric adenocarcinoma patients who received ET or gastrectomy treatment (GT) were evaluated using multivariate survival analysis.
Background And Aims: Current guidelines recommend consideration of endoscopic therapy (ET) when treating selected early gastric cancers. However, clinical decision-making on ET versus gastrectomy for early adenocarcinoma of esophagogastric junction (AEGJ) remains challenging because of uncertain long-term outcomes.
Methods: We performed a retrospective cohort study using the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database from 2004 to 2017 of early AEGJ patients underwent ET or gastrectomy.
Background: The incidence of gastric cardia cancer (GCC) patients has been increasing, while the survival trends of GCC patients over time remains unclear. Thus, the aim of our study was to determine the survival trends of GCC patients over time using a population-based data in the United States.
Methods: A total of 9044 surgically resected GCC patients during 1988 to 2015 from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database were identified.
Objective: Sunitinib/sorafenib (SU/SO), dendritic cells (DCs), or DC-cytokine-induced killer (CIK) could significantly prolong progression-free survival (PFS), 3-year overall survival (OS), or 5-year OS for patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC). We retrospectively analyzed the clinical efficacy between SU/SO combined with DC-CIK and SU/SO monotherapy in treating renal cell carcinoma (RCC) patients with metastasis after radical nephrectomy.
Materials And Methods: All patients (n = 34) with postoperative mRCC in our hospital from January 2009 to January 2014 were received either SU/SO monotherapy (Group 1, n = 15) or in combination with DC-CIK (Group 2, n = 19).
This single-center, observational study analyzed the association between plasma concentration of sorafenib and its safety and efficacy in Chinese patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC). Adult patients with RCC (n = 94), treated with sorafenib were enrolled between January 2014 and January 2015. Sorafenib plasma concentrations were measured by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry.

However, the role of HPIP in gastric cancer (GC) is unclear. Here, we show that HPIP is upregulated in most GC patients and promotes GC cell proliferation, migration, and invasion.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA blackbody cavity is developed for continuously measuring the temperature of molten steel, which consists of a cylindrical outer tube with a flat bottom, a coaxial inner tube, and an aperture diaphragm. The ray-tracing approach based on the Monte Carlo method was applied to calculate the effective emissivity for the isothermal cavity with the diffuse walls. And the dependences of the effective emissivity on the inner tube relative length were calculated for various inner tube radii, outer tube lengths, and wall emissivities.
