Background: A body of evidence has suggested bidirectional relationships among gallstone disease (GSD), non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and kidney stone disease (KSD). However, the results are inconsistent, and studies on this topic in China are relatively few. Our goal is to explore the bidirectional associations among these three diseases through a multicenter study, systematic review, and meta-analysis.

Association Between Triglyceride-Glucose Index and Risk of Gallstone Disease: A Prospective Cohort Study of 395 391 Individuals.

Objective: Gallstone disease (GSD) is one of the widespread gastrointestinal conditions. Triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index, a convenient surrogate for insulin resistance, may help identify and prevent gallstones. The present study aims to conduct a longitudinal study to evaluate the association between TyG index and the risk of GSD using the UK Biobank cohort.

We aim to examine the association between liver function-related indicators and gallstone disease (GSD) risk. The subjects who participated in the China Multicenter Physical Examination Cohort (CMPEC) were enrolled. Relative odds ratios (ORs) with 95% CIs and standardized mean differences (SMDs) were applied to investigate the effect of liver function-related indicators and GSD risk.

Cholelithiasis is a common disease of the digestive system. The risk factors for cholelithiasis have been reported and summarized many times in the published literature, which primarily focused on cross-sectional studies. Due to the inherent limitations of the study design, the reported findings still need to be validated in additional longitudinal studies.

Reclassified the phenotypes of cancer types and construct a nomogram for predicting bone metastasis risk: A pan-cancer analysis.

Background: Numerous of models have been developed to predict the bone metastasis (BM) risk; however, due to the variety of cancer types, it is difficult for clinicians to use these models efficiently. We aimed to perform the pan-cancer analysis to create the cancer classification system for BM, and construct the nomogram for predicting the BM risk.

Methods: Cancer patients diagnosed between 2010 and 2018 in the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database were included.

Background & Aims: Gallstones are common and associated with substantial health and economic burden. We aimed to comprehensively evaluate the prevalence and incidence of gallstones in the 21st century.

Methods: We systematically searched PubMed and Embase to identify studies reporting the prevalence and/or incidence of gallstones between January 1, 2000, and November 18, 2023.

[Molecular mechanism underlying differentiation of HL-60 cells induced by hexamethylene bisacetamide].

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of hexamethylene bisacetamide (HMBA) on differentiation of HL-60 cells and its possible molecular mechanism. HL-60 cells were co-cultured with different concentrations of HMBA (0.5, 1, 2 mmol/L) for 4 days, then the proliferation was assayed by MTT at different time points.
