Objective: To explore characteristics, management strategies and preventive measures of fusion device displacement after oblique lateral interbody fusion (OLIF) in treating lumbar lesions.

Methods: The clinical data of 12 patients with fusion device displacement after OLIF for lumbar lesions in 4 medical centers from October 2014 to December 2018 were retrospectively analyzed, including 4 males and 8 females, aged from 53 to 81 years old;2 patients with lumbar disc degeneration, 4 patients with lumbar spinal stenosis, 3 patients with lumbar degenerative spondylolisthesis and 3 patients with lumbar degenerative kyphosis;preoperative dual-energy X-ray bone mineral density (BMD) was detected in 1 patient with T-value > -1 SD, 5 patients with T-value >-1~-2.5 SD, and 6 patients with T-value <-2.

Objective: To analyze the causes of vertebral fracture during oblique lateral interbody fusion in the treatment of lumbar spondylopathy, summarize the clinical results, and propose preventive measures.

Methods: Retrospective analysis was made on the data of 8 cases of lumbar spondylopathy and vertebral fracture treated by oblique lateral interbody fusion in three medical centers from October 2014 to December 2018. All were female, aged from 50 to 81 years with an average of 66.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigates the effectiveness and safety of Stand-alone oblique lateral interbody fusion (OLIF) for treating lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration, particularly in patients with Modic changes and endplate sclerosis, analyzing 16 cases from three medical centers between 2015 and 2018.
  • - The results showed no serious surgical complications like vascular or vertebral injuries, with average surgery times being 45.12 minutes and minimal blood loss; however, there were some transient complications affecting four patients.
  • - Follow-up over 12 to 36 months revealed significant recovery in intervertebral space height and improvement in spinal balance, indicating the positive clinical outcomes of using OLIF in these patients.

Objective: To summarize and compare the endplate injury occurrence characteristics and clinical results of transforaminal intervertebral fusion combined with pedicle screw fixation through intermuscular approach and oblique lateral intervertebral fusion combined with pedicle screw fixation in the treatment of lumbar disease.

Methods: A retrospective analysis of 213 cases of lumbar disease admitted from January 2016 to June 2019, including 73 males and 140 females. The age ranged from 24 to 81 years old, with an average of(54.

One of the key factors to improve electrochemical properties is to find exceptional electrode materials. In this work, the nickel-cobalt layered double hydroxide (CNT@CoS/NiCo-LDH) with the structure of a hollow nanocage was prepared by etching CNT@CoS with zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 (ZIF-67) as a template. The results show that the addition of nickel has a great influence on the structure, morphology and chemical properties of materials.

Objective: To explore the clinical effect of combined fixation and interbody bone grafting through intermuscular approach with different fusion cages in the treatment of single segment lumbar diseases.

Methods: From June 2014 to December 2016, the clinical data of 123 cases of single segment lumbar diseases were analyzed retrospectively, including 44 males and 79 females, aged 22 to 60 years old, with the diseases course of 6 to 84 months. The disease types involved lumbar disc degeneration in 65 cases, lumbar spinal stenosis in 30 cases, Meyerdingâ… slip in 21 cases, giant lumbar disc herniation in 7 cases.

Objective: To investigate the advantages and disadvantages of unilateral pedicle screw fixation combined with contralateral translaminar facet screw fixation and interbody fusion with cages in the treatment of two-level lumbar vertebra diseases, by comparing bilateral pedicle screw fixation and interbody fusion with cages.

Methods: Forty-nine patients with two-level lumbar diseases who received treatments from June 2009 to December 2011 were included in this study. Among these patients, 23 patients received unilateral pedicle screw fixation combined with contralateral translaminar facet screw fixation and interbody fusion with cages (combined fixation group) and the remaining 26 patients underwent bilateral pedicle screw fixation and interbody fusion with cages (bilateral fixation group).
