Objectives: This study aims to compare the diagnostic efficacy of metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) to traditional diagnostic methods in patients with lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs), elucidate the etiological spectrum of these infections, and explore the impact of mNGS on guiding antimicrobial therapy.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed data from 128 patients admitted to the Respiratory Department of Anqing 116 Hospital between July 2022 and July 2023. All patients had undergone both mNGS and conventional microbiological techniques (CMT) for LRTI diagnosis.

This article considers distributed optimization by a group of agents over an undirected network. The objective is to minimize the sum of a twice differentiable convex function and two possibly nonsmooth convex functions, one of which is composed of a bounded linear operator. A novel distributed primal-dual fixed point algorithm is proposed based on an adapted metric method, which exploits the second-order information of the differentiable convex function.

Purpose: To investigate the influence of circular ribonucleic acid thrombospondin-1 (circTHBS1) on the proliferation and apoptosis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells by sponging miR-129-5p and regulating the expression of SRY-box transcription factor 4 (SOX4).

Methods: Carcinoma and para-carcinoma specimens were collected from 40 NSCLC patients, and 25 pairs of specimens were obtained from patients with metastatic and non-metastatic NSCLC. After NSCLC cells were cultured, the proliferation was detected via cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) and 5-Ethynyl-2'- deoxyuridine (EdU) assays, and the cell cycle and apoptosis rate were analyzed through flow cytometry.

In this article, we come up with a novel Nesterov gradient and heavy-ball double accelerated distributed synchronous optimization algorithm, called NHDA, and adopt a general asynchronous model to further propose an effective asynchronous algorithm, called ASY-NHDA, for distributed optimization problem over directed graphs, where each agent has access to a local objective function and computes the optimal solution via communicating only with its immediate neighbors. Our goal is to minimize a sum of all local objective functions satisfying strong convexity and Lipschitz continuity. Consider a general asynchronous model, where agents communicate with their immediate neighbors and start a new computation independently, that is, agents can communicate with their neighbors at any time without any coordination and use delayed information from their in-neighbors to compute a new update.

Background: This study aimed to study the clinical efficacy of argon plasma coagulation plus cryotherapy for central airway stenosis caused by lung cancer.

Methods: The clinical data of 177 patients with central airway stenosis caused by lung cancer received surgery from June, 2017 to July 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. According to different treatments, 43 patients received cryotherapy were included in the control group, while 134 patients received argon plasma coagulation plus cryotherapy were in the observation group.
