Article Synopsis
  • HDAC inhibitors like Trichostatin A (TSA) induce apoptosis primarily in cancer cells, such as cervical cancer, while having minimal impact on normal cells.
  • In experiments, 1 µmol/L of TSA led to significant apoptosis in Hela (86%) and Caski (76%) cancer cells, but normal cells showed over 90% survival at the same dosage.
  • Reduction of the DNMT3B protein in cancer cells is linked to increased apoptosis, as knocking down DNMT3B drastically enhanced cell death in these cancer lines.
