Article Synopsis
  • Over half of the world is infected with a bacterium linked to serious stomach issues, and the WHO classifies it as a major carcinogen, making its eradication crucial.
  • The study extracted antibacterial peptides from bovine milk caseins using pepsin in conditions mimicking the human stomach, and identified their molecular weights through advanced mass spectrometry techniques.
  • Results showed that the peptides casecidin 17 and β-casein 207-224 have strong antibacterial properties; with the most effective results observed at very low pH levels, indicating potential for new treatments against infections.

Objective: To explore the molecular mechanism underlying the biological function of lncRNA PTENP1 in bladder cancer.

Methods: Expressions of PTENP1, PTEN and miR-17 were examined by quantitative reverse transcriptase PCR (qRT-PCR) in 12 bladder cancer tissues. The expression of PTEN was examined by Western blotting in bladder cancer cell lines T24 and 5637 overexpressing PTENP1.
