Data-Independent Acquisition-Based Quantitative Proteomic Analysis Reveals Potential Salivary Biomarkers of Primary Sjögren's Syndrome.

Objective As primary Sj?gren's syndrome (pSS) primarily affects the salivary glands, saliva can serve as an indicator of the glands' pathophysiology and the disease's status. This study aims to illustrate the salivary proteomic profiles of pSS patients and identify potential candidate biomarkers for diagnosis.Methods The discovery set contained 49 samples (24 from pSS and 25 from age- and gender-matched healthy controls [HCs]) and the validation set included 25 samples (12 from pSS and 13 from HCs).

Syntheses, structural characterisation and electronic structures of ferrocenyl-osmafuran heterobinuclear organometallic complexes.

The heterobinuclear complex OsCl(PPh)[CHC(PPh)CFcO] (Fc = (CH)Fe(CH)) (1) in which the two metal centers were connected by the skeleton of the osmafuran and cyclopentadienyl was synthesized via a one-pot reaction of OsCl(PPh) and FcCOC[triple bond, length as m-dash]CH in high yield. Three derivatives (Os(η-OCOO)(PPh)[CHC(PPh)CFcO] (2), Os(NCS)(PPh)[CHC(PPh)CFcO] (3), and OsCl(dppb)[CHC(PPh)CFcO] (dppb = PhP(CH)PPh) (4)) were obtained by the ligand substitution reactions of complex 1 with different reagents (CsCO (2), NaSCN (3) and dppb (4)), respectively. All of these complexes were characterized by NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis and the structures of complexes 1, 3 and 4 were further confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction.

Efficacy of Topical Tacrolimus for Erosive Oral Lichen Planus: A Meta-analysis.

Objective: To assess the efficacy and safety of topical tacrolimus for erosive oral lichen planus (EOLP).

Methods: Literatures published up to December 2013 were searched from PubMed, Embase, CENTRAL, Chinese BioMedical Literature Database (CBM), and System for Information on Grey Literature in Europe (SIGLE). All randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of topical tacrolimus for EOLP which compared with other interventions or a placebo were considered in this Meta-analysis.

Expression of proteasome immunosubunit in labial glands of patients with primary Sjogren's syndrome.

Objective: To investigate the expression of proteasome immunosubunit low molecular weight polypeptide (LMP)2 and LMP7 in labial glands of patients with primary Sjogren's syndrome patients, and thus explore their role in the diagnosis, differential diagnosis and pathogenesis of primary Sjogren's syndrome (pSS).

Methods: Labial specimens were collected from 40 patients with pSS, 15 patients with connective tissue diseases other than pSS, and 9 healthy controls. The expressions of LMP2 and LMP7 in labial specimens were determined using immunohistochemical approaches and analyzed using semi-quantitative methods.
