Inflammatory bowel diseases including Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC) are characterized by abdominal pain, diarrhea, blood in stools, weight loss, and fatigue. It presents in patients with varying severity from mild to severe depending on the inflammation. Detailed analysis and guidelines are required for the safe usage of biological therapies in the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases as surgery is reserved for more complex cases.

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is one of the leading causes of chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma, resulting in major global public health concerns. The HCV infection is unevenly distributed worldwide, with variations in prevalence across and within countries. The studies on molecular epidemiology conducted in several countries provide an essential supplement for a comprehensive knowledge of HCV epidemiology, genotypes, and subtypes, along with providing information on the impact of current and earlier migratory flows.

Although patients with early-stage HCC are usually suitable for therapies with curative intention, up to 70% of patients experience relapse within 5 years. In the past decade, the United States Food and Drug Administration has approved different immunogenic treatment options for advanced HCC, the most common type of liver cancer among adults.

The American College of Surgeons and its Committee on Trauma (ACSCOT) have urged trauma centers (TCs) to screen for fall risk, but information on the role of TC in this opportunity for prevention is largely unknown.

Background: COVID-19 has affected global communities with multiple neurological complications in addition to other critical medical issues. COVID-19 binds to the host's angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptors, which are expressed in the neurons and glial cells, acting as an entry port to the central nervous system (CNS). ACE2 receptors are abundantly expressed on dopamine neurons, which may worsen the prognosis of motor symptoms in Parkinson's disease (PD).

Numerous electronic databases were searched and finally 15 studies with a total of 3,530 patients, 757 in the anakinra arm, 1,685 in the control arm were included. The pooled adjusted odds ratio (OR) for mortality in the treatment arm was 0.

Objective: Pharmacologic therapy (PT) for patients with esophageal variceal hemorrhage (EVH) may improve outcomes. The aim of this article is to assess the current and potential future use of PT in cirrhotic patients with EVH.
Material And Methods: We validated a 13-question survey about PT and physician preferences for specific therapies in cirrhotics with EVH; 2349 randomly selected Gastroenterology and Hepatology physicians worldwide were surveyed.
Background: The rate-limiting enzyme of the mevalonate pathway, 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG CoA) reductase, provides essential intermediates for the prenylation or dolichylation of growth-related proteins. d-δ-tocotrienol, a post-transcriptional down-regulator of HMG CoA reductase, suppresses the proliferation of murine B16 melanoma cells. Dietary d-δ-tocotrienol suppresses the growth of implanted B16 melanomas without toxicity to host mice.
