Objective: Multiple sclerosis (MS) may present with predominant involvement of the spinal cord and optic nerve (MS/w-SCON) and mimic other autoimmune inflammatory demyelinating disorders (AIDD) such as neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), and relapsing inflammatory optic neuritis (RION). Thus, biomarkers are required for effective differential diagnosis of AIDD.
Methods: Patients with MS/w-SCON (n = 20), MS without involvement of SCON (MS/wo-SCON) (n = 22), NMOSD (n = 16), RION (n = 15) and healthy individuals (n = 21) were included.
Background: The anti-JCV antibody index is widely used to monitor multiple sclerosis (MS) patients receiving natalizumab, as seroconversion is linked to an increased risk of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy. This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence and risk factors of anti-JCV antibody seroconversion in patients treated with natalizumab.
Methods: We included MS patients exposed to natalizumab treatment for at least one year, with a negative anti-JCV antibody index at baseline, and a minimum of two anti-JCV antibody assessments more than six months apart.
This study investigates the frequency and numbers of circulating helper innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) in untreated relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients, focusing on intracellular IL-10 and CCR6 expressions under IL-2, IL-33, and retinoic acid (RA) stimulation in vitro and their associations with clinical features in RRMS. In RRMS patients, ILC1 levels were notably higher upon IL-2 + IL-33 + RA stimulation, while ILC2 levels, particularly the c-Kit ILC2 and CCR6 ILC2 subsets, were significantly lower compared to unstimulated conditions. Additionally, IL-10 ILC1 levels were elevated.

Methods: Sera of 29 MS-SCON patients and 36 healthy controls were screened with indirect immunofluorescence to identify IgG reacting with human astrocyte cultures.

Background: Clinical exacerbations characterized with neurological symptoms are observed in around 10% of Behçet's disease (BD) patients and may culminate in severe disability. Although certain immunological factors have been associated with disease activity in neuro-Behçet's disease (NBD), biomarkers for monitoring the clinical outcome of NBD have not been properly investigated.
Methods: Levels of neurofilament light chain (NFL), homeobox protein Hox-B3 (HoxB3), and YKL-40 were measured in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) samples of 23 parenchymal (n = 16) and nonparenchymal (n = 7) NBD patients obtained during NBD attacks by ELISA.
Aim: Behçet's disease (BD) is a multisystemic inflammatory disease. Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) is the second most common form of neuro-BD after parenchymal central nervous system involvement. Background: COVID-19 is a multisystemic infection with variables consequences depending on individual and comorbid conditions. The course and outcomes of COVID-19 during neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disorders (MOGAD) are not clearly known.
Objective/methods: The aim of this study was to examine the features and outcomes of COVID-19 infection in NMOSD and MOGAD patients.
Background: Among the comorbidities that accompany multiple sclerosis (MS), restless legs syndrome (RLS) is one of the most common. Anxiety and depression are common psychological comorbidities that impact the quality of life of patients with MS (PwMS), as well as patients with RLS.
Objective: To investigate the psychiatric burden of MS and RLS coexistence, we conducted a nationwide, multicenter and cross-sectional survey.
