Objective: The aim of the study is to determine the tobacco use status of first and fifth grade students studying at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine in the 2022-2023 academic year and to evaluate the factors affecting tobacco use. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The data of the cross-sectional study were obtained by sending a form prepared in electronic environment to the students after a brief information was given in the unit/classroom where they did their internship, and the students responded on their mobile phones. In research, 539 of 790 students answered the form.

Methods: The quasi-experimental study was conducted at the Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Turkey, during the 2021-22 academic year, and comprised students of either gender from the 9th to the 11th grade. After baseline assessment, training that blended peer education with the photovoice technique was administered between March 2021 and January 2022.
Aim: Ventricular extrasystole (PVC) is characterized by premature ventricular depolarization and is associated with increased risk of arrhythmias and structural heart disease. This study aimed to investigate the association between the PVC burden and left atrial (LA) function in individuals without known cardiac disease.
Material And Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 102 patients with PVCs who were admitted to a cardiology clinic.

Background: To evaluate the diagnostic utility of basal and post-exercise QRS-T angle in patients with stable coronary artery disease (CAD).
Methods: This cross-sectional and observational study analyzed 190 patients with stable angina. The QRS-T angle is measured on the 12-lead electrocardiograms at baseline and just after stopping the treadmill stress test in patients undergoing conventional coronary angiography (CAG).
Objective: Hemodynamic instability plays an important role in the development of contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN), which is an important complication of coronary angiography. Left ventricular (LV) end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP) accurately reflects hemodynamic changes. In clinical practice, measuring LVEDP invasively presents some challenges and is not always accessible.

Initiating breastfeeding immediately after birth stimulates breast milk production. Prelacteal feeding (PLF) may result in late initiation of breastfeeding, and thus insufficient production of breast milk.

The aim of this study was to investigate the pain scores associated with IUD insertion and the ease of procedure at different times during menstruation.
Method: In this prospective cohort trial, eligible women received IUD at three-time segments of menstruation: Group I, at 0.
Hyperglycaemia can alter placental resistance to blood flow and hyperglycaemia has adverse perinatal outcomes. Oral glucose tolerance testing (OGTT) increases the maternal plasma glucose levels temporarily and mimics metabolic hyperglycaemia. The blood flow of the uterine artery (UtA), umbilical artery (UA), middle cerebral artery (MCA) were assessed before, 1 and 2 h following the OGTT by using Doppler ultrasonography.

Background: COVID-19 is a highly contagious disease caused by a severe acute respiratory coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Healthy pregnant women are more susceptible to developing COVID-19.
Introduction: Subchorionic hematoma (SCH) in pregnancy has been associated with increased risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes. We aimed to investigate the association of SCH with adverse pregnancy outcomes in pregnant women in relation to size of hematoma and control subjects.
Material And Methods: This study included 178 pregnant women with sono-graphically detected SCH in the 1 trimester, and 350 pregnant controls without SCH.
Background: The Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic emerged in Wuhan, China and has spread all over the world and affected global mental health. Pregnant women may be particularly vulnerable and experience high levels of distress during an infectious disease outbreak. The aim of this study was to determine anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms in pregnant women during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Early identification of risky cases through preoperative evaluation is important for reducing the complications that may be seen in patients postoperatively. The aim of this study is to calculate, evaluate and compare the risk indices for PPC in patients who will undergo elective abdominal surgery.

Data on maternal clinical and obstetric characteristics [maternal age, gravidity, parity, PPROM time, and AFI (cm), latency period, treatments, type of delivery, length of hospital stay (LOS, day)], fetal characteristics (gestational age at delivery, birth weight (g), gender) and maternal and fetal complications were recorded and compared in AFI < 5 cm (n = 27) and AFI ≥ 5 cm (n = 21) groups.
Results: Overall AFI was ≤ 5 cm in 27 (56.
Objectives With clinical experience from previous coronavirus infections, public health measures and fear of infection may have negative psychological effects on pregnant women. This study aimed to compare the level of anxiety and depression in the same pregnant women before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods The pregnant women continuing pregnancy who participated in the first study which was undertaken to clarify the factors associated with mental health of pregnant women before the COVID-19 pandemic, were included for the current study during the outbreak.

Method: A total of 386 women with singleton deliveries between March 2015 and January 2018 were included in this retrospective single-center study. Of 386 women, 186 women (mean±SD age: 30.
Objective: Breech presentation is the most common form of malpresentation, and associated with perinatal asphyxia and mortality, and maternal morbidity. Data associated with labor induction in breech presentation are limited. The aim of this study was to compare maternal and fetal complication rates in induced and spontaneous vaginal, and cesarean delivery with breech presentation.
