Background: Post-COVID-19 syndrome (PCS) remains a major health issue worldwide, while its pathophysiology is still poorly understood. Systemic oxidative stress (OS) may be involved in PCS, which is reflected by lower circulating free thiols (R-SH, sulfhydryl groups), as they are receptive to rapid oxidation by reactive species. This study aimed to investigate the longitudinal dynamics of serum R-SH after SARS-CoV-2 infection and its association with the development of PCS in individuals with mild COVID-19.

Background: Guidelines on COVID-19 management are developed as we learn from this pandemic. However, most research has been done on hospitalised patients and the impact of the disease on non-hospitalised and their role in transmission are not yet well understood. The COVID HOME study conducts research among COVID-19 patients and their family members who were not hospitalised during acute disease, to guide patient care and inform public health guidelines for infection prevention and control in the community and household.

Oxidative stress has been implicated to play a critical role in the pathophysiology of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and may therefore be considered as a relevant therapeutic target. Serum free thiols (R-SH, sulfhydryl groups) comprise a robust marker of systemic oxidative stress, since they are readily oxidized by reactive oxygen species (ROS). In this study, serum free thiol concentrations were measured in hospitalized and non-hospitalized patients with COVID-19 and healthy controls and their associations with relevant clinical parameters were examined.

Background: It has been known that the "atypia of undetermined significance (AUS)/follicular lesion of undetermined significance (FLUS)" category is the most problematic category in Bethesda system due to its highly heterogeneous morphological features. Recently, it has been reported that aspirates including nuclear atypia in the AUS/FLUS category have a higher risk of malignancy.

Aims: This study aimed to assess each nuclear property in aspirates with cytological atypia and also to determine the relationship with the risk of malignancy.

Traffic is a major concern for the city of Istanbul due to the rapid increase in population and car ownership. Eurasia Tunnel, which has a capacity around 100,000 light vehicles/day, is the fourth highway link between Asia and Europe, established to relieve the existing pressure on the transport system. As an important alternative to other Bosphorus Strait crossings, the tunnel offers directly reduced traffic durations in the city especially during rush hours and indirectly provides reduced fuel consumption, thereby less harmful gas emissions into the atmosphere.

Introduction: Often referred to as aseptic or osteonecrosis, avascular necrosis (AVN) typically affects people between 30 and 50 years of age. Given the substantial morbidity associated with AVN as well as overlapping age groups of both the military and average age at diagnosis for AVN, the military represents an ideal cohort for a large database study to elicit the incidence and epidemiology of AVN. The purpose of this study was to identify demographic risk factors in the United States military.
