[Characteristics of the fixation of resin-bonded bridge dentures. Possible errors and measures for their elimination].

Correct choice of the design, thorough fitting of the carcass and its stability on abutment teeth during occlusion and articulation, prosthesis fixation with composite material whose storage time has not expired, strict adherence to the rules recommended by the firm manufacturing the composite are necessary for strong fixation of adhesive dentures.

[The use of composite materials for the orthodontic treatment of patients with the vertical form of pathological tooth abrasiveness].

The author summarizes his experience with 34 patients with localized vertical pathological teeth abrasion. The coronal defects of 189 anterior teeth were corrected using individually fitted polymeric caps and composition materials: carbodent and epacryl (USSR), evicrol (CSSR), microrest (Japan). The technique is described in detail with its advantages, indications and contraindications.

[Use of magnets for improving the fixation of removable plate dentures].

An experience is summarized in using the removable dentures with fixation improved by magnets secured on their bases so that their flat surfaces were in contact with the analogous surfaces in the pin insertions located on the residual teeth roots. The technique was applied to manufacture the 21 dentures in 14 patients. The advantages of the technique are presented with the indications to its use.

[Variability in the flavinogenic activity of Pichia guilliermondi yeasts].

The natural and induced variability of the flavinogenic activity was studied in the strain of Pichia guilliermondii ATCC 9058. The flavinogenic activity of the collection strain showed normal distribution; the amount of riboflavin(RF) accumulated in the medium differed several times in the extreme variants. In the clones with the maximum and minimum accumulation of RF, the distribution of the variants was asymmetric, due to the appearance of the cells with an average flavinogenic activity.
