Lichen sclerosus (LS) is a chronic lymphocyte mediated inflammatory mucocutaneous disease of unknown aetiology with a predilection for the anogenital region, and affecting both sexes. The disease is characterized by pain, intolerable itching and scarring. In late stages of LS, disfiguring scarring can drastically alter the structural anatomical architecture of the genitals.

International eDelphi Study to Reach Consensus on the Methotrexate Dosing Regimen in Patients With Psoriasis.

Importance: A clear dosing regimen for methotrexate in psoriasis is lacking, and this might lead to a suboptimal treatment. Because methotrexate is affordable and globally available, a uniform dosing regimen could potentially optimize the treatment of patients with psoriasis worldwide.

Objective: To reach international consensus among psoriasis experts on a uniform dosing regimen for treatment with methotrexate in adult and pediatric patients with psoriasis and identify potential future research topics.

The Effect of Psychiatric History on Pain and Related Outcomes Among Living Kidney Donors.

Introduction: Living donor transplantation of kidneys accounts for one quarter of transplants performed in the United States. Careful screening of psychiatric history is a standard part of the donor evaluation. Little is known about the impact of psychiatric history on post-donation course and pain experience.

Is obsessive-compulsive personality disorder related to stress-related exhaustion?

Objective: Recovery from stress-related diagnoses can, in some cases, be long-lasting, and several different factors could be related to such a lengthy recovery. One plausible aspect is obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD), which has previously been seen to be related to stress-related mental health. Thus, the aim of this study was to investigate whether recovery from exhaustion disorder (ED) is associated with OCPD.

The relationship between marijuana use and psychosocial variables in living kidney donor candidates.

Background: We investigate whether marijuana use in living kidney donor candidates is associated with psychosocial risk factors that place donors at higher risk for adverse outcomes and the unique associations between marijuana use and donor candidacy.

Methods: Medical records of 757 living kidney donor candidates were reviewed. Patients were grouped into marijuana users/abstainers; demographic, psychiatric, and substance use variables were compared.

Recent multi-tracer dating of the Black Sea sediments: Recovery of the late post-Chernobyl trends of radioactive contamination.

The combined use of artificial (Cs, Pu, Am) and naturally occurring (Pb/Ra, K) radionuclides as tracers for dating of the Black Sea sediments has allowed to reveal the recent increase in radioactive contamination of this basin with Cs after the Chernobyl accident. This is presumably caused by the prolonged input of the man-made radionuclides that showed a rise in the late 1990s - early 2000s, and by a possible post-deposition remobilization of Cs from the seabed.

Iatrogenic metrorrhagia after the use of itraconazole for onychomycosis.

We present first case report on itraconazole, a drug very commonly used for onychomycosis, used along with simvastatin that caused metrorrhagia. The suggested probable mechanism is the inhibition of steroidogenesis, especially estrogens that resulted in low-estrogen breakthrough bleeding. This article emphasizes the importance of drug interaction check prior the initiation of onychomycosis treatment.

Distribution and migration of Pu in abiotic components of the Black Sea ecosystems during the post-Chernobyl period.

Distribution of Pu in abiotic components (water and bottom sediment) of the Black Sea ecosystems was studied during the post-Chernobyl period at different offshore and near-shore locations. The trends of these radionuclides accumulation by sediments were analyzed. The spatial-temporal changes in the Pu distribution as well as effective half-life for these radionuclides in the Black Sea surface water in deep-sea area are presented.

Topical Ingenol Mebutate: A New Treatment Modality for Multiple Actinic Keratoses and Field Cancerization.

Background: Ingenol mebutate gel is a recent stirring weapon recommended for the treatment of multiple actinic keratoses (AKs) and field cancerization. This review brings a summary of recent data on the treatment of AKs with ingenol mebutate (IM) providing critical commentary with regard to drug's characteristics, drug's safety profile, treatment regimen, treatment outcome, patient compliance, AK recurrence, costeffectiveness and cost-utility, as well as guidelines for the management of the treatment of AK.

Diclofenac-Induced Allergic Contact Dermatitis: A Series of Four Patients.

Allergic contact dermatitis is an immune-mediated antigen-specific skin reaction to an allergenic chemical that corresponds to a delayed-type hypersensitivity response (type IV reaction). Allergic contact dermatitis should be suspected when skin lesions are localized to the site of previous applications of the culprit drug. Lesions appear after re-exposure in susceptible persons, with delayed onset (more than 24 h after exposure).

Hypersensitivity Eosinophilic Myocarditis in a Patient Receiving Multiple Drug Therapy: Challenges in Diagnosis and Defining the Aetiology.

Eosinophilic myocarditis (EM) is a rare and potentially fatal disease if left untreated. Because the disease can have a delayed presentation and can appear even after 2 years, its underlying causes often remain unknown. We report the case of a 63-year-old man with an atypical clinical presentation of hypersensitive EM and significant coronary artery disease, which was confirmed through coronary angiography.

[Microbial Processes and Genesis of Methane Gas Jets in the Coastal Areas of the Crimea Peninsula].

Hydroasoustic techniques were used for detection and mapping of gas jet areas in the coastal regions of the Crimean peninsula. Gas seep areas in the bays Laspi, Khersones, and Kazach'ya were chosen for detailed microbiological investigation. The first type of gas jets, observed in the Laspi Bay, was probably associated with discarge of deep thermogenic methane along the faults.

Brief Test of Attention: Normative data for the Latin American Spanish speaking adult population.

Objective: To generate normative data on the Brief Test of Attention (BTA) across 11 countries in Latin America, with country-specific adjustments for gender, age, and education, where appropriate.

Method: The sample consisted of 3,977 healthy adults who were recruited from Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Paraguay, Honduras, Chile, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Bolivia. Each subject was administered the BTA as part of a larger neuropsychological battery.

Lymphogranuloma venereum: diagnostic and treatment challenges.

Lymphogranuloma venereum is a sexually transmitted disease caused by L1, L2, and L3 serovars of Chlamydia trachomatis. In the last 10 years outbreaks have appeared in North America, Europe, and Australia in the form of proctitis among men who have sex with men. Three stages of disease have been described.

(40)K in the Black Sea: a proxy to estimate biogenic sedimentation.

An approach to estimate the rate of biogenic sedimentation in the Black Sea using the naturally occurring radionuclide (40)K has been considered. It allows assessment of the contribution of suspended matter of biological origin to the overall sediment accumulation in the Black Sea coastal, shelf and deep-water areas. Based upon this method, a relationship between the biogenic fraction of the seabed sediments and the water depth has been established with a view to differentiating the contributions of allochthonous and autochthonous suspended matter to the sedimentation rate.

Contemporary radioecological state of the North-western Black Sea and the problems of environment conservation.

Review is devoted to the analysis of a radioecological situation in the North-western Black Sea and concerns the levels of contamination of the components of an ecosystem by the main artificial radioactive isotopes ((90)Sr, (137)Cs, (239,240)Pu). The long-term accumulation trends of these radionuclides were analyzed in components of the Black Sea ecosystem after the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident. Zones that have an increased ability to accumulate these radioisotopes were revealed.

Health-related quality of life and mental health outcomes in Mexican TBI caregivers.

Research has documented the deleterious effects on caregivers of providing care for an individual with traumatic brain injury (TBI). TBI caregivers in Mexico specifically have reduced health-related quality of life (HRQOL) across both physical and mental health domains. The purpose of the current study was to uncover the system of connections between Mexican TBI caregivers' HRQOL and their mental health.

Secondary radioactive contamination of the Black Sea after Chernobyl accident: recent levels, pathways and trends.

The recent radionuclide measurements have showed that concentrations of the Chernobyl-derived (137)Cs and (90)Sr in the surface Black Sea waters are still relatively high, reaching 56 and 32 Bq m(-3), respectively. This is comparable or even exceeds the pre-Chernobyl levels (∼16 Bq (137)Cs and 22 Bq (90)Sr per m(3) as the basin-wide average values). The measurements have revealed that the Black Sea continues to receive Chernobyl radionuclides, particularly (90)Sr, by the runoff from the Dnieper River.

Examining the influence of three types of social support on the mental health of mexican caregivers of individuals with traumatic brain injury.

Objective: The aim of this study was to examine the influence of three types of social support (appraisal, belonging, and tangible) on caregiver mental health (anxiety, burden, depression, and satisfaction with life) among Mexican caregivers of individuals with traumatic brain injury.

Design: This is a cross-sectional study of 90 family caregivers from Hospital Civil Fray Antonio Alcade in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Results: More months spent caregiving was associated with decreases in all three types of social support.
