Objective: To evaluate the predictive value of epicardial fat thickness (EFT) in CHA2DS2-VASc (congestive heart failure, hypertension, age ≥75 years, diabetes mellitus, previous stroke or transient ischemic attack, vascular disease, age 65-74 years, sex category) score risk groups.
Methods: A total of 158 consecutive patients (75 females, 83 males, mean age 70.8±6.
Introduction: Vitamin D deficiency is a common health problem worldwide and tends to be a risk factor for all-cause mortality. We evaluated the effect of continuous low-dose oral daily and loading dose of oral weekly and loading monthly intramuscular (IM) vitamin D regimens on circulating levels of total 25(OH)D and in vitamin D deficient females, and between non-obese and obese subgroups.
Material And Methods: A total of 231 vitamin D deficient females were included to the study.
Hydrocephalus is a rare complication of brain involving acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). The standard treatment is ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunting, while ventriculoatrial (VA) shunting is the second option in a case of VP shunt failure in young children. But the presence of port catheter at the right atrium restricts and makes a VA shunt difficult to place in the same atrium.

Caregivers and patients affected by idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) are likely consumers of this information. We aimed to determine viewer engagement, quality, and content of YouTube videos on IPF and to compare the provided information with contemporaneous guidelines.

These adaptations in hormonal and elemental aspects have previously been determined via some studies with variations in their findings. Thyroid volume and 24-h urinary calcium are two parameters which have not been investigated regarding whether they change during the bariatric postsurgical period.

Methods: This retrospective study included 45 consecutive adult patients with multitrauma who were admitted and operated on due to a fall from height between January 2008 and December 2016. Patients were divided into mortality and recovery groups (n=10 and n=35, respectively).

Introduction: The aim of this study is to evaluate late side effects that affect quality of life in children with sacrococcygeal teratoma (SCT).
Patients And Methods: The patients with SCT were evaluated retrospectively. The data were expressed by percentage and the subgroups were compared statistically.
Background: Our goal is to evaluate postoperative outcomes of continuous versus interrupted suturing techniques in ventricular septal defect (VSD) closure surgery.
Methods: The study included 286 patients with isolated VSD who underwent VSD closure surgery between June 2010 and April 2017. VSD closure was performed by using the interrupted suturing technique in group 1 (n = 74, 25.
The aim of the study was to evaluate of surface roughness and color changes of the resin-based five restorative dental materials after aging in liquids at different pH values. Totally 250 specimens were prepared, including 50 specimens for the each material group from five different restorative materials (G1[Filtek Z550], G2[Beautifil II], G3[Vertise Flow], G4[Dyract XP], G5[GCFujiIILC]), using the 10-mm diameter and 2-mm thickness molds. A total of 50 specimens in the each group, were divided into five subgroups (n = 10) to be immerse into five liquids at different pH.

However, clinical studies assessing its effects remain limited. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of hyperthermic preconditioning on the rate of surgical site infection and inflammatory reaction in patients undergoing elective colorectal cancer surgery.

Objectives: To assess the validity, internal consistency, and responsiveness of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire long form (IPAQ-LF) and to estimate the minimal important difference (MID) for moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) in patients with fibrotic ILD.
Methods: This two-center prospective cohort study included a convenience sample of 111 outpatients with fibrotic ILD who wore waist and wrist ActiGraph accelerometers for 7 consecutive days, followed by self-administration of the IPAQ-LF.
Rationale: Previous studies have suggested that interstitial lung disease (ILD) progresses most rapidly early in the course of systemic sclerosis-associated (SSc)-ILD, and that SSc-ILD is often more stable or even "burned out" after the first 4 years following diagnosis.
Objectives: Our objectives were to determine whether an apparent plateau in pulmonary function decline is due to survival bias and to identify distinct prognostic phenotypes of ILD progression.
Methods: Consecutive patients with SSc-ILD from a single center were included.

Purpose Of Review: Accurate diagnosis of interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) can be challenging, and a substantial percentage of ILD patients remain unclassifiable even after thorough assessment by an experienced multidisciplinary team. In this review, we summarize the recent literature on the definition, prevalence, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of unclassifiable ILD, and also discuss important current issues and provide future perspectives on the classification of ILD.
Recent Findings: Approximately 12% of patients with ILD are considered unclassifiable, with large variability across previous studies that is in part secondary to inconsistent definitions of unclassifiable ILD and other ILD subtypes.
BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to find a simple and easily accessible scoring system that could predict the development of sepsis in the preseptic period. MATERIAL AND METHODS The study included 161 patients with a basal sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA) value of 2 or more. The sepsis group (n=83) comprised patients with infection reported in culture results; the control group (n=78) comprised patients not showing evidence of infection in blood, urine, and phlegm cultures; samples were taken on three consecutive days.

Many patients cannot be provided a confident diagnosis, despite an exhaustive search for potential etiologies and review in a multidisciplinary conference, and are consequently labeled with unclassifiable interstitial lung disease.
Objectives: To systematically review and meta-analyze previous studies reporting on the diagnostic criteria, prevalence, clinical features, and outcome of unclassifiable interstitial lung disease.
Objective: Idiopathic granulomatous mastitis is a breast disease without a definitive etiology. There are no definitive classifications, scoring systems or certitudes. The aim of this study is to define the factors related to the recurrence and design a scoring system.

Spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH) is a rare and potentially serious condition in childhood. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) volume depletion is thought to be the main causative feature for intracranial hypotension and results from a spontaneous CSF leak, often at the spine level. SIH is increasingly diagnosed in clinical practice, although it manifests a varied symptomatology.
