The melanocortin-3 receptor (MC3R) was recognized for its critical role in energy metabolism and inflammatory responses in mammals; however, its functions in fish remain poorly understood. This study characterized the mc3r gene in goldfish, investigating its sequence, tissue distribution, and pharmacological responses. The coding sequence of goldfish mc3r was 975 bp, translating to a 325-amino-acid protein typical of G protein-coupled receptors, with notable conservation across cyprinids.

Female zebrafish (Danio rerio) exposure to polystyrene nanoplastics induces reproductive toxicity in mother and their offspring.

Nanoplastics (NPs) have been commonly detected in aquatic ecosystems, and their negative effects on aquatic organisms have raised concerns in the scientific community and general public. The acute toxicity, neurotoxicity, and metabolic toxicity induced by NPs on fishes have been reported by many studies, although less attention has been focused on how mother exposed to NPs affected their offspring in aquatic organisms. Here, female zebrafish (F0) were exposed to 0, 200 and 2000 μg/L polystyrene nanoplastics (PS-NPs) for 42 d, with their offspring (F1) reared in clear water until sexual maturity.

Chronic granulomatous disease: A single-center experience in Central Anatolia.

Background: Chronic granulomatous disease (CGD), one of the phagocytic cell defects, is the primary immunodeficiency caused by dysfunction of the NADPH oxidase complex in neutrophils.

Methods: The clinical, demographic and laboratory findings of 17 CGD patients who were followed-up between 2002 and 2021 were obtained retrospectively from the records of the patients.

In this study, free medium-resolution satellite radar images from the European Space Agency's (ESA) C-band Sentinel-1A satellite and commercial high-resolution satellite radar images (SAR, Synthetic Aperture Radar) from the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt's (DLR) X-band TerraSAR-X satellite were obtained, and it was attempted to reveal the traceability and adequacy of monitoring of deformations and possible mass displacements in the dump site of an open-pit coal mine.

In this study, software was developed that can detect periodic effects by applying fast Fourier transformation (FFT) time series analysis to InSAR results. Using the FFT time series analysis, the periodic components of the surface movements at the PS points were determined, and then the annual velocity values free from periodic effects were obtained.

The present study has investigated the effects of different salinity levels on growth performance, feeding and survival of Asian seabass Lates calcarifer juveniles. Asian seabass juveniles were reared at 0 (T1), 5 (T2), 22 (T3), 36 (T4), and 42 (T5) ppt salinity.
