Background: Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) is the sub-type of Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) which is described by differentiation block at promyelocytic stage and t(15; 17) translocation with All trans retinoic acid (ATRA) and arsenic trioxide (ATO) as standard treatments. Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) translocation t (19; 22) causes a rise in granulocytes and their immature precursors in the blood. Different mutations cause resistance to first-line tyrosine kinase therapies in CML.
