Bean proteins, known for their sustainability, versatility, and high nutritional value, represent a valuable yet underutilized resource, receiving less industrial attention compared to soy and pea proteins. This review examines the structural and molecular characteristics, functional properties, amino acid composition, nutritional value, antinutritional factors, and digestibility of bean proteins. Their applications in various food systems, including baked goods, juice and milk substitutes, meat alternatives, edible coatings, and 3D printing inks, are discussed.

Exposure to SHS induced the degradation of helical structure, and longer chains, reducing amylose, blue value, optical density, and relative crystallinity. Meanwhile, SHS treatment might have introduced hydro‑carbonyl groups, eventually increasing water absorption capacity, swelling power, and transparency.

Methods: In this retrospective interventional study a total of nine patients were recruited.
Guar seed flour (GSF) has a high amount of carbohydrates, proteins, phytochemicals, and anti-nutritional factors (ANFs), which limits its use. To address this issue, the current study was undertaken to understand the effect of microwave (MW) irradiation on ANFs, phytochemicals, in vitro protein digestibility (IVPD), and functional attributes of GSF at varying power density (P: 1-3 W/g) and duration (3-9 min). The ANFs were determined using a colorimetric assay and a Fourier transform infrared spectrum.

Case Discussion: This is a case report of a patient with PSMM who was treated with surgery followed by radiotherapy for his residual disease in Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust, Pakistan. The clinical and radiological findings of this case were retrospectively analyzed using the Hospital Information System.
The use of non-conventional seed flour is of interest in obtaining healthy breakfast cereals. The research aimed to study the physico-functional, bioactive, microstructure, and thermal characteristics of breakfast cereals using scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometry, and differential scanning calorimeter. The increase in feed moisture content (16 %) enhanced the bulk density (5.

This study provides insights into the dynamics of Roxadustat with PHD2 and proposes two FDA-approved drugs; Pemetrexed and Valrubicin to treat chronic kidney disease (CKD). Role of chemical scaffolds such as synthetic pyrimidine-based antifolate is found critical for PHD2 inhibitory activity, which is concurrent with the experimental findings for stimulating Endogenous erythropoietin (EPO) gene expression.

Materials and methods We performed a retrospective study on female patients at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Lahore, Pakistan. Patients with endometrial carcinoma (CA) were searched from the electronic record system, and a total of 188 patients fulfilling the study criteria were selected.

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a condition that is very common during pregnancy and has negative consequences for both mother and fetus. Insulin resistance has been shown as an important cause in the pathogenesis of GDM and low-level inflammation is suggested to be one of the underlying causes of insulin resistance. We aimed to investigate whether the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), which is an indicator of systemic inflammation, is a predictor for GDM.

In this project, virgin castor oil was converted to polyol in two steps: epoxidation and hydroxylation. The resulting polyol was used to synthesize two series of water-borne polyurethane dispersions (WPUDs).

The problem of disposing and managing solid waste materials has become one of the major environmental, economic, and social issues. Utilization of solid wastes in the production of building materials not only solves the problem of their disposal but also helps in the conversion of wastes into useful and cost-effective products. In the present study, solid waste materials of organic and inorganic nature were applied in the production of sustainable cementitious composites (CC) and studied the effect of incorporated wastes on physical and mechanical properties of the resultant CC.

Studies show that older migrants have poorer health than native populations in Western Europe. To date, little systematic research has explored the differences between men and women within older populations with migration backgrounds. This article examines gender-specific aspects and mediating mechanisms of self-reported health among older migrants from Turkey.
