Here we perform whole-genome sequencing of 2,023 CRC samples from participants in the UK 100,000 Genomes Project, thereby providing a highly detailed somatic mutational landscape of this cancer. Integrated analyses identify more than 250 putative CRC driver genes, many not previously implicated in CRC or other cancers, including several recurrent changes outside the coding genome.

Nursing students provide care services to patients in clinical settings and intensive care units who have or are at risk for medical device-related pressure ulcers (MDRPUs). In the prevention and care of MDRPUs, the attitudes of nursing students towards preventing of pressure ulcers are as crucial as their knowledge level and clinical skills.

EPAs provide a framework that bridges competencies to clinical practice. This report describes the work of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) Compendium EPA Workgroup to develop a list of EPAs for dental education and supportive resources, including specifications and a glossary.

Despite its importance, there is a paucity of literature reporting the consistency in interpreting mitotic figures among pathologists. This study leverages publicly accessible datasets and social media to recruit an international group of pathologists to score an image database of more than 1000 mitotic figures collectively.

The novel contribution of the study was to investigate the individual and combined impacts of climate and land cover change on water quality with high spatial and temporal resolution in a basin in Turkey. The global circulation model MPI-ESM-MR was dynamically downscaled to 10-km resolution under the RCP8.

Our aim here was to determine the frequency of low HER2 expression in metastatic gastric cancer and to compare the clinicopathological characteristics, survival, and treatment response of HER2-low patients with HER2-zero patients.
Methods: The clinicopathological features, treatment responses, and survival of HER2-low tumors and HER2-zero tumors were compared.
Background: The nucleosome assembly protein 1-like 1 (NAP1L1) is suggested to have an oncogenic role in several tumors based on its overexpression. However, its diagnostic and prognostic role in gastric cancer remains unclarified. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic and prognostic utility of NAP1L1 in gastric cancer patients.

However, they are dissolved in marine water and have negative impacts on marine non-target organisms. This study evaluated the adverse effects of sodium pyrithione (NaPT) on Mytilus galloprovincialis using total hemocyte counts (THCs), oxidative stress and antioxidant parameters, and histopathological observations.

Methods: PWWE followed up at the neurology outpatient clinic of 21 centers between 2014 and 2019 were included in this prospective study. The follow-up of PWWE was conducted using structured, general pregnant follow-up forms prepared by the Pregnancy and Epilepsy Study Committee.
In the present work, we describe Martini3 coarse-grained models of polystyrene and carboxyl-terminated polystyrene functionalized carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and investigate their interactions with lipid bilayers with and without cholesterol (CHOL) using molecular dynamics simulations. By changing the polystyrene chain length and grafting density at the end ring of the CNTs at two different nanotube concentrations, we observe the translocation of nanoparticles as well as changes in the lipid bilayer properties. Our results show that all developed models passively diffuse into the membranes without causing any damage to the membrane integrity, although high concentrations of CNTs induce structural and elastic changes in lipid bilayers.

Methodology: This systematic review and meta-analysis study was conducted between January 1, 2010 and October 31, 2021 by searching 16 databases through an independent search by three researchers. The acronym of PICOS was used and the keywords as well as inclusion/exclusion criteria were determined.
Ecosystem regime shifts can alter ecosystem services, affect human well-being, and trigger policy conflicts due to economic losses and reductions in societal and environmental benefits. Intensive anthropogenic activities make the Sea of Marmara ecosystem suffer from nearly all existing available types of ecosystem pressures such as biological degradation, exposure to hydrological processes, nutrient and organic matter enrichment, plastic pollution, ocean warming, resulting in deterioration of habitats. In this study, using an integrated ecosystem assessment, we investigated for the first time the historical development and ecosystem state of the Sea of Marmara.

Evolving technologies, including artificial intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality, are providing synergistic opportunities to create new and exciting educational platforms. The evolution of these platforms will likely play a significant role in dental education.

Here, we report all-atom molecular dynamics results from polystyrene and carboxyl-terminated polystyrene-modified carbon nanotubes and show their translocation behavior across a model lipid bilayer together with their potential to deliver a molecule of the drug ibuprofen into the cell. Our results indicate that functionalized carbon nanotubes are internalized by the membrane in hundreds of nanoseconds and that drug loading increases the internalization speed further.

While this relationship is sometimes beneficial for both species, it can sometimes be harmful to one species. This study aimed to investigate the effects of colonized zebra mussels Dreissena polymorpha on the growth parameters and total hemocyte counts of the narrow-clawed crayfish Astacus leptodactylus from Eğirdir Lake (Turkey).

It is listed as "Critically Endangered" in the IUCN's regional assessment for the Mediterranean. Like other sharks and rays, the angular roughshark is subject to by-catch in demersal trawl and longline fisheries.

Understanding the ecological role of overexploited and endangered predators is essential to deciphering how their feeding behaviour influences food web dynamics. In this study, the authors investigated the feeding behaviour of the common and IUCN-listed Near Threatened (NT) thornback ray Raja clavata, using carbon and nitrogen stable isotope and stomach content analysis (SCA).

Classic Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) is one of the most common pediatric solid tumors and is responsible for cancer-related deaths in children. Therefore, to modulate the active antitumor T-cell immune response in cHL can be a treatment strategy. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the expression profiles of selected antitumor immune response genes in pediatric cHL and their relationships with clinical and prognostic parameters to determine their significance in precision medicine.

Material And Methods: Forty-seven patients suffering from refractory epilepsy and who were evaluated by invasive EEG were included in this retrospective study at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine from 2003 to 2017. Human herpes virus-8 (HHV-8) is linked to four lymphoproliferative diseases: primary effusion lymphoma, HHV-8 positive multicentric Castleman disease (MCD), HHV-8 positive diffuse large B cell lymphoma and HHV-8 positive germinotropic lymphoproliferative disorder (GLPD). The diagnosis of HHV-8 associated lymphoproliferative diseases is quite challenging because each entity is rare and has a wide morphological spectrum. Our aim is to emphasize the overlapping histopathological features of MCD and GLPD as well as to underline the importance of clinicopathological correlation in case these two entities cannot be distinguished by pathological examination.
