Infected bone defect (IBD) is a great challenge in orthopedics, which involves in bone loss and infection. Here, a self-assembling hydrogel scaffold (named AMP-RAD/EXO), integrating antimicrobial peptides(AMPs), RADA16 and BMSCs exosomes with an innovative strategy, is developed and applied in IBD treatment for sustained antimicrobial ability, accelerating osteoblasts proliferation and promoting bone regeneration. AMPs present an excellent ability to inhibit infection, RADA16 is a self-assembling peptide hydrogel for AMPs delivery, and BMSCs exosomes can promote the bone regeneration.

Fly ash (FA) from municipal solid waste incineration contains hazardous substances such as dioxins, furans, and heavy metals. Melting FA has proved to be an effective method for reducing volume and mass, while also rendering the waste harmless. However, during the melting process, the addition of a fluxing agent with calorific value is currently necessary to increase melting capacity and reduce energy consumption, which presents a challenge.

Because of the high blood flow and high pressure, the aortic arch, which sends out 3 branches including the innominate artery that separates the right common carotid artery and the right subclavian artery, the left common carotid artery, and the left subclavian artery, is an important blood vessel supplying the brain and spinal cord, so the risk of aneurysms in this area is very high. The main risk is that the rupture can cause massive bleeding; the secondary is that some aortic arch lesions can cause insufficient blood supply to the brain or spinal cord. If early diagnosis can be detected, it could be treated completely with minimally invasive or open surgery.

Lactoferrin (Lf) is a multifunctional protein that is synthesized endogenously and has various biological roles including immunological regulation, antibacterial, antiviral, and anticancer properties. Recently, research has uncovered Lf's critical functions in bone remodeling, where it regulates the function of osteoblasts, chondrocytes, osteoclasts, and mesenchymal stem cells. The signaling pathways involved in Lf's signaling in osteoblasts include (low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein - 1 (LRP-1), transforming growth factor β (TGF-β), and insulin-like growth factor - 1 (IGF-1), which activate downstream pathways such as ERK, PI3K/Akt, and NF-κB.

Inflammation is much more intrinsic to hernia then is what is generally appreciated. The occurrence of hernias is associated with swelling, stress and inflammation. Surgery remains an important intervention to treat hernias and for many years, post-surgical levels of inflammatory cytokines have been evaluated to compare the different strategies for their comparative advantages.

To develop and design a nursing performance evaluation model for community health service centers for nursing performance management. Preliminary evaluation indicators were constructed through literature retrieval and research. Applying the Delphi method, 20 experts were invited to conduct two rounds of questionnaire consultation and indicator importance scoring.

Cuprotosis, a newly proposed mechanism of cell death, can trigger acute oxidative stress that leads to cell death by mediating protein lipidation in the tricarboxylic acid cycle. However, cuprotosis-related long non-coding RNAs (CRLNCs) and their relationship with prognosis and the immunological landscape of colorectal cancer (CRC) are unclear. We have developed a lncRNA signature to predict survival time, immune infiltration, and sensitivity to chemotherapy.

In this study, the application effect of fast-track surgery (FTS) nursing intervention in laparotomy and laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer (CRC) is investigated, and the optimal perioperative management strategy for CRC surgery is explored. One hundred thirty CRC patients are included in this study, in which 67 patients undergo laparotomy (Group A) and 63 patients undergo laparoscopic surgery (Group B). These patients were also randomly divided into traditional nursing subgroup (Group A1 [n = 33] and Group B1 [n = 31]) and FTS nursing subgroup (Group A2 [n = 34] and Group B2 [n = 32]).

Background: To observe the effect of Huaiqihuang granules combined with comprehensive nursing intervention on children with primary nephrotic syndrome (PNS) and its effect on renal function index.

Methods: A total of 104 patients were included, and the patients were randomly divided into two groups, with 52 cases in each group. The control group was treated with glucocorticoid, and the study group was treated with Huaiqihuang granules.

Background: Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) Wilms Tumor 1 Associated Protein Pseudogene 1 (WTAPP1) has been reported to be a critical player in the angiogenesis and migration of endothelial progenitor cells, while its involvement in cancer biology remains unknown. This study was carried out to investigate the role of WTAPP1 in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Methods: The expression of WTAPP1 and lncRNA HAND2 Antisense RNA 1 (HAND2-AS1) in plasma and tissues from NSCLC patients was detected by qRT-PCR.

Accumulating evidence has shown that microRNAs (miRNAs) are aberrantly expressed in human esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and are crucial in tumorigenesis, among which miR‑338‑3p has been examined to be downregulated in patients with ESCC. However, the role of miR‑338‑3p in ESCC remains to be elucidated. In the present study, the role of miR‑338‑3p on the growth and survival of an ESCC cell line was determined with several in vitro approaches and in nude mouse models.
