The momentum of robotic surgery is increasing, and it has great prospects in pancreatic surgery. It has been widely accepted and expanding to more and more centers. Robotic distal pancreatectomy (RDP) is the most recent advanced minimally invasive approach for pancreatic lesions and malignancies.

We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to compare the effect of HAIC with TACE in patients with unresectable HCC.
Methods: Clinical trials, which were about HAIC or TACE in Patients with unresectable HCC, were identified by searching PubMed, Medline, and EMBASE from January 2010 to March 2022.

The aim of the present study was to compare the efficacy of microwave ablation (MWA) and surgical resection (RES) for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) conforming to the Milan criteria and the associated short- and long-term survival rates. The baseline characteristics were obtained from 231 patients with HCC who met the Milan criteria. To compare the mortality rates between groups, survival analysis was conducted using the Kaplan-Meier method and the log-rank test.

Due to its short sequence, low expression level and high susceptibility to degradation, the stable and sensitive detection method of miRNAs is arduous to establish. In this work, we designed a metal chelator (ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid disodium salt, EDTA•2Na) labeled oligonucleotides as the plasmonic signal supraregulator probe to control the generation of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs).

To investigate their roles in the progression of primary and metastatic malignant liver tumors and their prognosis, we compared expression profiles of CXCL12/CXCR4, CCL20/CCR6, and CCL21/CCR7 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and colorectal liver metastases (CRLM). Immunohistochemistry was used to analyze the expression levels of the chemokine/chemokine receptor pairs in 29 HCC and 11 CRLM specimens and adjacent non-cancerous tissues, and correlations with clinicopathological variables and overall survival were determined.

Obstructive jaundice can affect the liver, kidney, heart, and the immune system of the patients. Currently, controversy exists in whether preoperative biliary drainage (PBD) is of any benefit to the patients, and the best way for PBD in patients with resectable HCCA of malignant biliary obstruction remains to be determined.

However, the low sensitivity and nonquantitative results seriously limited its clinical application. Herein, we designed a highly sensitive, quantitative and dual-readout ICTS for assaying multiple AMI biomarkers based on magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) quenching the fluorescence of Cy5, which was labeled on capture antibodies on test (T) lines.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLong noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) play important roles in various biological processes such as proliferation, cell death and differentiation. Here, we show that a liver-enriched lncRNA, named liver fibrosis-associated lncRNA1 (lnc-LFAR1), promotes liver fibrosis. We demonstrate that lnc-LFAR1 silencing impairs hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) activation, reduces TGFβ-induced hepatocytes apoptosis in vitro and attenuates both CCl- and bile duct ligation-induced liver fibrosis in mice.

And eight clusters of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) with similar expression pattern were detected by k-means clustering. Then a survey map of functional disorder in IPMN progression was established by functional enrichment analysis of these clusters.

However, the functionality of hepatocyte-like cells is significantly lower than that of primary hepatocytes.
Aims: To investigate whether serum from patients undergoing hepatectomy might promote differentiation from human induced pluripotent stem cells to hepatocyte-like cells.
Aim: To compare the clinical effectiveness of the treatment of choledocholithiasis by laparoscopic common bile duct (CBD) exploration and by endoscopic sphincterotomy (EST).
Materials And Methods: A meta-analysis of studies about CBD stones was performed to analyze EST in comparison with laparoscopic CBD exploration procedures. Trials were identified by searching the Medline, EMBASE, PubMed, CBM, and CNKI databases from January 1990 to December 2012 for laparoscopic CBD exploration or EST for CBD stones.
Objective: To determine the effects of total parenteral nutrition (TPN) and enteral nutrition (EN) on biochemical and clinical outcomes in pancreatic cancer patients who underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy.
Methods: From the year 2006 to 2008, 60 patients who underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy in Tianjin Third Central Hospital were enrolled in this study. They were randomly divided into the EN group and the TPN group.

In this paper, we address the preparation of the EPC and HEPC sterically stabilized doxorubicin liposomes and report the data collected from further studies on pharmacokinetics in blood for choosing a better carrier in delivering the drugs. The pharmacokinetics of EPC and HEPC sterically stabilized liposomes (EPC-SSL, and HEPC-SSL) in Wistar rats were investigated by HPLC. The results showed that the mean residence time of HEPC-SSL in blood is 23.

The case is a 51-year-old man who was hospitalized for yellow color skin and sclera and itching for 2 mo without abdominal pain. Nothing special was found in physical examination except yellowish skin and sclera.

This article presents the design of a bioreactor using hollow fiber membrane and, isolated hepatocytes of suckling pigs, and the experimental study of its efficacy in vitro. Liver cells were harvested from suckling pigs with collagenase perfusion in situ, and parenchymal and non-parenchymal hepatocytes were cocultured in a hollow fiber module which was rotated sporadically. Bioartificial liver(BAL) was developed using this bioreactor, and the BAL was perfused with ascites of patients suffering from liver cirrhosis.
